I used to know some French from going to Montreal quite often, other than that I speak a bit of Icelandic.

I've been told that I can speak English very well. It's a great feat because my native language is Spanish :D

I am considered fluent in Spanish, but I'm still learning xD

And I'm teaching myself German, and I'd say I'm at an intermediate level. I can understand most of it, but when it comes to putting words together I'm not so great ^^;

Anyway, I know bits of other languages such as French, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Polish. But not enough to hold a conversation *dies*

My mother tongue is Russian, but I've been living in Canada for almost 14 years so I know English just as well. I've dabbled in other languages such as french, German, polish, Japanese, and Latin, but nothing more than a few words and bits of grammar.

I get by on French which helps when on business in Portugal. A little Spanish, but I do best with Italian. That said, I've got to know all the really bad cusswords my Russian mum Rachel rants off with, haha.

If you already know Russian German is easy to grasp the most difficult this is to learn the genders of the words because they don't match up to Russian very well.

Ну испытай :p. Я правда не в России щас живу, но приезжаю обратно сдавать экзамены почти каждый год, да и родствеников навестить. Стыдно конечно людям говорить, но после восьми лет прожвания заграницей, мой английский стал лучше моего русского, ГИА в этом году по русскому еле на четверку сдал.
Разговариваю к счастью без проблем :)

Sorry guys for being disrespectful and speaking another language on this english forum. Just had to ensure someone that I do really in fact speak Russian :p

Hell yeah! Pas mal.
My native language is French, but I really love speaking English. I may be able to speak Spanish a bit. The language I'd like to learn is Russian.

You speak it, Jason? Or is that a yay I can't tell XDD
Ooooh latin~ Had to sing tons of latin while I was in choir, though I understand about three words of it XDD
Prize for you for learning such a difficult-appearing language!

i know little bits from back in grade school....some colors and animals...one phrase...

also thank for the congratulations.  This language has to be the hardest next to speaking Chinese.....There are a like a billion endings to memorize and then these exceptions to those.....

I'm learning Chinese in high school. The same set of letters (the characters may be different) can mean different things depending on what marks or context you put them with. For instance, pronouncing "shi" can mean "10," "is," "try," and several other things depending on inflection, context, and what dialect of Chinese you're speaking. It's completely crazy how complicated their language is. Their grammar is backwards too.
But I'd imagine Latin would be extremely difficult too, as it's practically the root of all languages. My cousin took it, and he really liked it, but he said it was definitely difficult.

Haha, I know some chinese as well as I used to learn it for about 2 years, and  indeed due to the multiple tones and dialects it is difficult to remember, but what is easy about chinese is the fact that almost no tenses are ever used, but this compensated by the difficulty of memorising the characters.
If you think 4 different tones of mandarin is sometimes confusing, you should try taking up cantonese dude, they have like 10 tones LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Russian on the other hand is the reverse of chinese, the characters are relatively easy to remember, but there is so much grammar that you'll drown in it :p

Considering the fact that China is rapidly developing and strengthening its economy, it is a very wise move to learn chinese actually.
