Basically, what're your favorite albums?  Just an idea, to maybe find other music people like, and their opinion of the best of the genre.

Mine would have to be The Black Mages 3:Darkness and Starlight, by The Black Mages.  It's hard to find, considering it wasn't released outside of Japan, but if you can find it, give it a listen, I don't think you'll be dissappointed.

So, just post below, you all know the drill.  So, what are some of your favorite albums?

I don't have a "favourite" album like that...I like some albums for some things and others for others. For example, my favourite album to write/cartoon to is "The Campfire Headphase" by Boards Of Canada - whereas my favourite album to drive to is "Bee Thousand" by Guided By Voices, and my favourite album to drink to is "Pulled Apart By Horses" by Pulled Apart By Horses...

But again, these are all just "current" favourite in these various catagories...they can be replaced at the drop of a hat depended on mood/sobriety/weather/time of day...that kind of stuff.

Also - "the best genre"? There is no such thing. There is music you like, and music you don't. It's all "good"....except Good Charlotte. They suck.

Well I'm quite undecided because I have quite a few. I would like to mention my top 6 though.

1."Underclass Hero" by Sum41
2."Nevermind" by Nirvana
3."Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys" by My Chemical Romance (I am guessing from the title its about killjoys but the moral of the album is that killjoys are as fun as the next? Correct me please if I'm wrong because its just the interpretation I have from looking at the title
/Off topic)
4."Greatest Hits" by Blink182
5."All Killer No Filler" by Sum41
6."Enema Of The State" by blink182

Remember that time with that thing when it ran to that place that was in that city and then exploded.  There was also that time when the other guy with that birth mark who killed that one but the other day when that thing happened to that person.

Octavarium by Dream Theater
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater
Words Untold and Dreams Unlived by Serenity
The Greatest Show Unearthed by Creature Feature

That's all I can think of right now. I usually get individual songs rather than albums, but those four stick out right now.

My favorite album would have to be Pink Friday: Nikki Minaj!  She has a throw down attitude in her music that just lifts me off my feet!  I cannot wait for her next one!  PE@CE OUT~~~ :D !!!
Remember that smile, the one you wore with such beauty and grace?  Where has it gone?  What has happened to put you in this miserable, lonely place?  Smile for me, even it may be the last time I see.  A picture I will take not for myself, no. A picture for the entire world to embrace the happiness you once shared with me.  Just smile...

I have quite a few favorite albums, but I'll list some off the top of my head
Disciplined Breakdown and Dosage, both by Collective Soul
High Moral Fibre, by Renard
It's Murder, by Mayhem
Drawing Dead, by The Midnight Crew
The Sound of Madness, by Shinedown
Project Chaos, from OCRemix

There's a bunch of other favorite songs I have, but these albums I could just listen to forever.

I am so glad to say that I have been an Adele fan since before she became a huge hit.   Her two albums "19" and "21"  has some of the greatest music ever in it.  Josh Groban's "Closer" is a beautiful album as well.

Mind CTRL: Psychic Chasms Possessed- Neon Indian
Now that's some of the best (and trippiest) electronic music you could imagine. Songs like 'Deadbeat Summer', '6669 (I Don't Know If You Know)', and 'Sleep Paralysist' are the main tracks, and are all really good, but the best songs on there PERIOD are the title track, 'Psychic Chasms' (and the Anoraak remix and Twin Shadow cover on that CD), both the original 'Mind, Drips' and the remix by Bibio, and Ephemeral Artery. Amazing.

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix-Phoenix
I play this CD on repeat. ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAY. '1901', 'Lisztomania', and 'Armistice' are classic songs, and definitely worth listening to. But on a rarer note, listen to the longer instrumental, 'Love Like A Sunset'.

The Suburbs- Arcade Fire
They won the Grammies, against much more popular bands/musical acts like Eminem or Lady Gaga. Which just goes to show the amazing scope of this CD. I'm sure you've heard their hit songs 'Ready To Start', 'We Used To Wait', or others, but listen to the title track. It's one of the most moving songs... EVER.

Some honorable mentions are:
Good Luck- Robot Science
Kid A- Radiohead
Halcyon Digest- Deerhunter
The Narrow Stairs- Death Cab For Cutie
Causers Of This- Toro Y Moi
Sound Of Madness- Shinedown
In Ghost Colours- Cut Copy
Time To Pretend EP- MGMT (before they were mainstream!)
