The Slender Man Mythos
« on: July 31, 2011, 05:07:12 am »
For anyone who does not know, The Slender Man is an Internet urban legend, the first of its kind. He is a tall, thin, suited man that stalks people and occasionally takes out their organs, puts them in bags, and puts the bags back in the body. His targets are usually children. It is all very Cthulhu-y.

There are several pictures, a quick google search will turn up hundreds of them.

Then there is Marble Hornets, a YouTube series a out our tall friend. I am currently using an iTouch, but will post a link to the intro soon.

So, is anyone else as fascinated by him as I am?

Kinda, I've seen up to #42 of them, just not in the mood to watch the recent ones. Its entertaining, and well done, and very creepy, Similar to the Blair witch project in my opinion.

It is Blair witchy. The recent ones are getting to a point... Did you get to the point where Alex is in the forest and is chased by slendy?

I never found Slenderman to be creepy/scary because I knew it was created on the internet.

Even though, I love watching Slenderman videos.

Have any of you watched Salad Fingers?!?!?!  Now if you wanna talk about something disturbingly interesting watch that! -shivers-
Remember that smile, the one you wore with such beauty and grace?  Where has it gone?  What has happened to put you in this miserable, lonely place?  Smile for me, even it may be the last time I see.  A picture I will take not for myself, no. A picture for the entire world to embrace the happiness you once shared with me.  Just smile...

Just type it into Google and it should take you to a site.  It is the most freakiest thing I have ever watched bubby.  I can't explain it, just you have to watch it to form your own opinion.

Where are you in the series?
Also there is a forum that you might like... Slender Nation. You will find a lot of other video series talk there too. I also think a lot of the members might be furries.

Heh, I kept wondering who the Slender Man is, because my feinds keep asking me if I am him. Where they got the connection between me and him, I have no idea *gives a deadly stare*...

Oh don't get me started. I love the Slenderman mythos.
And I am terrified by them, especially Tribe Twelve, Marble Hornets and DarkHarvest00.
I just love them, I also am making my own lol.

Oh cool! What are you using for your Slendy? I've seen a styrofoam head with a flesh colored stalking/pantyhose (to make fairly life like) works well. I had a picture somewhere...

Mines kind of like the Ben stories, taking place in a video game, so it's just a model of slendy. It's got some positive feedback on slendernation forums.
It's kind of like he is stalking me in games, and soon to be real life lol http://www.youtube.com/user/Humphrey4848
So soon I am gonna have to get a Slendy in real life. I may use a manequin (spelling?) lol or styrofome. but I hear manquins (spelling?) cost money

Yeah. That is a bane of every Slendervlog's existences. Mannequins cost around $100 - $500. The Styrofoam head goes on a tall friend, in a suit to big for him. That and clever camera work.

Yeah lol, and plus I would want a mannequin that is standing straight, I don't want a Slenderman who is posing. Unless of course I was making a parody series.
which reminds me, you should watch MarbleBumbleBee, the only Slenderseries where Slenderman comes riding in on a skateboard XD

After I watched Marble hornets the first night,  I was so paranoid D:
I remember I thought Masky would be sitting on my bed...

I don't sleep when a new Marble Hornets come out.

Same.
The newest one was great.
When Masky puts the rock next to Alex.
And when Alex got ticked off. It was just great. Troy said he was gonna start editing, so I hope that means the new Marble Hornets entry :3
Btw, you should watch DarkHarvest00, it is really good, has some great acting in it.
