My real name's meaning: "Means "little star" in Middle English, taken from the name of the emblem that some Norman coins bore."

I was almost named Gabriella, which means my nickname would have been Gabby. Ew >_> And my mother wanted to name my Amethyst, but she compromised with my father and named me Hayley.

I was 5 when my brother was born, and if I had been able to name him I would have named him after our ferret, Pantera x3

I wish I could've named my sister. I continuously suggested "Nelly" to my parents, after one of the baby spiders at the end of Charlotte's Web. They ended up naming her Katie instead. :/

I had a friend whose mom almost named her Ebony Star. It's funnier if you know the mom.

And me, if I was a boy I would've been named Zachary, which is an awesome name in my opinion. I wasn't though, so they named me after an amazon plant. >.>

It's worked for my mom twice. Just pull some sob story like "Oh, I'm so hungry and I missed lunch so I was racing home and didn't see the speed limit sign!" and add in a few tears.

Well, I was about to be like... Ezekial or something... thank god my mom suggested Nathan. WAAAY better than Ezekial any day.
Anyways Nathan is hebrew, its Natan which means gift. in Tamil it means son of god which I find ironic since I don't beleive in god..
Ezekiel means "God Will strengthen" or something. Why must I have such an ironic name? Ezekiel if you dont know comes from the Book Of Ezekial or The Old Testament..

No one ever had much nice to say
I think they never liked you anyway
Oh take me from the hospital bed
Wouldn't it be grand? It ain't exactly what you planned.
And wouldn't it be great If we were dead? "

If you believe the officers, then the tears alone should be enough, no matter what gender.
Some officer said they often wanted to just get away from there if the people start crying, something about it looking bad for them if someone drives past. So apperantly, if you get pulled over for something, start crying, loudly.

Granted, I'm not a fan of American culture either, but I latched onto a rather mysterious country that most folks never really think about:  Russia.  Hence, my SL usernames (where I was forced to pick from their list of surnames) are Felix Uritsky (Филикс Уритский) and Natasha Petrichor (Наташа Петрихор).  And Russian letters can actually be typed without wearing out my function modifier keys :-P
good on ya, i think it's great when you see someone being properly original (btw, I'm half russian).

I agree with what a lot of people are saying: there are too many of the japanese names here.
But perhaps we should leave the japanese-ness alone, because most furries probably got into furry-ness b y watching all the animes and the like. On a lighter note, I myself like fingerpainting XP.
"What is it?"
"It's a ... thing."
"Is it?"
"Yes."

When I named Katsuro, I didn't even know anything about anime. In fact, I named him directly an hour BEFORE I watched Black Butler for the very first time.

I figure since Kat is a kitsune, and kitsune are Japanese, I might as well find a Japanese name for him. So I looked them up, and the name Katsuro really stood out to me. It just suited him.

His name was originally Katsuro Stargazer, until a year ago as of this month I decided to give him a fully Japanese name by re-naming him Katsuro Shisen. Now Stargazer is just one of his nicknames, and I even put it into his personality/backstory by giving him a love of stargazing that has to do with his past.

Well, none of my fursona's names can truly be called American (Ha, can anything?), but only one of them is Japanese. Zetsumei Sora Sukaretto (絶命 空 スカーレット). I chose his first name because I wanted something that meant death and wasn't so close to the word "death" as to be obvious. His surname means "Scarlet" inherent of his colouring. His middle name was pretty much plucked out of the air. Viktoria, another one of my fursonas, has a Russian name (Виктория), but her middle and surnames are Western European. My roo, Cancerre's name is transliterated of the French word "Cancer" meaning "Cancer." My most recent, Christoph Viktor Bourgeois (Кристоф Виктор Буржуа / Christoph Viktor Bourgeois) has a Russian first and middle name, but a French last name.
