(Ok I'm bringing back another old thread but I have something interesting to add I promise  :fox-;):)

So I used to draw my fursona a lot a school. I don't know if anyone knew it was my fursona (I don't think many know what it is anyway) but some people knew it as "the dog fox thing I always drew". Most people knew me for wierd creature/animal drawings and liking animals (and being like a lion or something lol). I had many other characters too though.
I also used have an instagram with lotsa art (my new one has less art), I'm sure many people saw my fursona there too. I drew on all my books and stuff. I really liked my fursona for some reason, i still do. It's kinda wierd. I haven't told anyone in depth about my fursona, primarly I think of my fursona more like a friend and a character I can act more than too based on me.

Before that I had a character who was a dog with wings (part bird), I miss them sometimes, they were more a mascot than a fursona that I used in flipnote. I'd like to draw him again. Just looks like a normal brown dog really but so cute.. And I have had many mascots or recurring characters/ ocs before that. I could make a long list (i'm sorry this is kinda irrelevant), I started of drawing cats and super cat. Then leaf duck (jungle bunny too) This fire kangaroo thing. Racoot and radook (raccon cat thing). This character with babble like ears. Leaf dog. Sharfin. Many dog characters including a surfing dog and a splodge dog. This fluffy hamster thing with a neck thing you know like those tudors had. I drew snakes too. Then I have lots of more recent character drawn in the past 7 years (these are mostly older). I cannot list them all..... -.-
These characters were like memes. I drew them once and think omg thats cool then drew them again and again til i got bored of them. I miss them though >< I don't know how you can get so attached to imaginary characters but I can. Like with my stuffed toys too.. I had this pokemon drawing phase too.

In short terms no. I have a lunch group I sit with and they call me furry trash (Thats okay because I am xD) and sometimes they ask me about the fandom and the art sometimes so I made them guess my fursona and the name and they actually found that having a fursona is a way of personal expression and you can choose an animal you could relate to so they found it pretty cool actually

I don't talk about it much.
Mainly because most of my friends aren't furry and they are unconformable with new things.
But, if anyone asks I would share.

Actually everyone's pretty familiar with Sapphire. I draw her a lot offline too, and there's quite a few drawings of her on my wall. I just refer to her as "me as a deer" though.

As for Paua, he's more personal. I do draw him a lot, it's just that he's newer.

I talk more about the species of mine than anything else, mainly because that's one of the defining traits of it. I'm not really partial to talking about myself, and a fursona is kind of like a version of yourself, so it's the same situation.

Im both, on the internet or at cons im always loud and proud about being a fur. For example, i just got back from Ikkicon and while i was there i bought furry ears and a custom pin with my fursona on it that said: Furry & Proud.
However when im at school i dont talk about it because people will think im an idiot. Im even afraid to tell some of my friends about it (some of them, i have furry friends too). Although if i had a fursuit i would probably wear it around in public and not be afraid at all.

Yup. My friends dont need to know I like the idea of being a humanoid raccoon, they think I'm creepy enough as it is.

Only with other furries or friends with OC's, like the friend I was talking about in that thread I made a few weeks ago. I met someone at my school and I told her about the furry fandom, now she has a fursona and I've told her about mine. I also openly draw my fursona, I don't care if people at school know if I'm a furry, they don't even tease me for being a brony (which I tell EVERYONE, haha.)

I could've sworn that I responded to this on my old profile, but...

I normally didn't, but I have opened up now in short.
Nobody at my school except one, due to me already running into someone who despises furrys in a class.
I keep my pride regardless, and kick his butt in halo CE while I am at it in advisory.

One of my friends knows, and my brother does. My parents sort of know I think furries are cool, but nothing about my sona. I feel like even though I might post a crap ton of pictures of her on furry sites,(if I ever spend any time drawing) she's still kind of personal. Even if I told a bunch of people that I'm a furry, I wouldn't share her unless they asked or something.

Not really, she's basically my online persona of sorts so I use her where ever I go. I even use her as my avatar on FaceBook but haven't changed it to her current design yet which I changed last year :P

She's very personal to me and practically me so I don't feel the need to hide her ^^

Not really. I show Hieroglyph to a lot of my friends at school if I know them well enough, and I talk about my characters to my parents a lot.

The furry world is to me as much as any other world I visit be it in a show/game/book.

Real life is real life, but then I escape to my imagination and pretend or think of different senarios. In the furry world I just so happen to pretend to be my fursona. In other worlds I might pretend to be a character of a book, expiriencing their perspective, in a show I might be expiriencing a world through the eyes of multiple characters.

Sometimes this goes above and beyond and one imagines themselves as an individual in worlds others have made.

I rarely talk about the furry fandom in real life, and when I do, it's often very short. I don't want everyone to know I'm a furry and I honestly don't think they should know. People have many views on the fandom including the most popular fetishistic interpretation, so I tend to stay quiet about it. I'm more vocal about it online, but then again, modt of my online interactions are within the furry fandom. The furry fandom is more of a sanctuary for me, a place I don't want to be disturbed and a place where I don't have to be I physically am. The only downside to that is behavior of other people on the internet and the sensationalism, but other than that, I'm comfortable where I am. I try to enjoy myself and I feel that the best way to do that is be seperated from any personal endeavors with the fandom in real life until I'm older and able to have more interaction with the fandom in the real world. I'd love to go attend some of the conventions and meet other furries in person, but I know also that the people I know in my life would be unsupportive of that and it's far from worth the risk.

Yeah like he's my character I don't feel the need to show him to people besides my irl friend that's a furry. even then she thinks opossums are gross
I'm not very vocal about being a furry because I could care less
