Hm... it seems my definition is different.

I think of a philosopher as one who uses structured/logical arguments to draw a conclusion for a subject that has no right answer. (e.g. What is love?)

This is why the title PhD (Philosophiae Doctor - Doctor of Philosophy) is awarded to those who have reached a point in their studies where they must now explore new territory.

I don't like to think of a philosopher as one who only has an opinion or a thought with no basis as to why they think that.

XD Philosophy is my favorite~! What I mainly concern myself with lately has been the basic good or evilness of the universe (So far it's not looking so good for the universe) as well as the classic fate vs. free will argument. I swear, it just murders my insides every single time I try to think, Philosifur= cute

I used to study philosophy once I graduate with my honours degree I intend in doing a doctrate in Philosophy so yeah I like philosophy. People say I am a modern day philosopher. I doubt that though I am just a very moral and deep person.

Personally, I think about philosophical stuff quite a lot, and have made my own opinions. I've spoken to philosophy students at uni, and a couple of them seemed to think that since they were studying the subject, they're opinion held more weight then mine. I shrugged and walked away. As far as I'm concerned, the only truth is mine.

Ask these people to focus on the problems that actually make a difference in rl, and their useless.

I'm a casual philosopher, but i'm going to take it for college. I find its not an official title, and the only way you can prove it is by arguing philisophically whether or not it is. i don't think it is myself.

Casual philosophy is good nothing to strenuous about it.

Out of curiosity what are people's moral standings? Like are you a Calvinist like myself or something else or what?

Hadn't heard that one before, gotta think about this but I don't think I fit any of the "moral standings", I tend to make my own morals and believes.

And Roxy, try checking the Wiki page on it.

The consent rule XP. Its a good moral standing that is consistent. If more people used it in real life as they did when roleplaying, it would be a happier world.

Well everyone has a different moral standing. Utilitarian, Marxist, Calvinist etc. The theory of a calvinist is a Protestant view on life about God etc. The Scottish take on this is the meloncholy, dour way we think. Scottish people are quite meloncholy in general and this makes us say quite humourous but pessimistic things for example a Calvinist (like myself) would say to someone who has achieved something great: "Congratulations? You are only as good as your next failure!"  that sort of thing. It's a pearl of wisdom wrapped in a really meloncholy mannerism.

http://www.booksfromscotland.com/Books/The-Wee-Book-Of-Calvin-0141019727 perhaps this will help. This is one of the books that I read years ago that made me think I must be a calvinist.

A promise, in my opinion, isn't made before the other person gets the message. And since I posted the whole thing at once, you couldn't have gotten the first part before the rest.
