there should be a driving game.

there should be a driving game. where you can explore real cities and towns, highways and back roads. an unlimited choice of cars as you progress, the ability to walk through the game world. you can race from NYC to San Francisco or just drag race down the streets of miami. a completely open world environment. where you can explore the world through driving. all at the side of the other drivers. what you think?

Would be insanely demanding for an average processor that's why fallout crashes a lot.

my thought would not be to do up the graphics unless you set it really high. but to have the entire north american continent as an open world driving environment. with the ability to get out out of your car(s) and explore the buildings and interact.

I know a game somewhat like this. If you dont already have a PS2 go buy on and a copy of the game Roadtrip. There's no walking but you can upgrade your car and get better parts for it. Also not a map of the USA.

I loved that game I know I still have it somewhere.

Is it for some guy in the desert? Because I found all the stuff in the game.

I would love to see a game like that, though I can only imagine the time it would take to virtually map out the contiguous United States along with interiors of all the buildings in the country. But, if it were to be done, I believe it would be quite an enjoyable and popular game.

I think if I remember correctly the pen should be on those pyramid things the pyramids should be around that guys house. I will try to find the game to make sure. Tell me if you find it.

A real life simulator would be cool.   :fox-:P:
Of course, you could just live real life, rather than play a game that simulates it (but the point of a real life simulator would be to do things you can't do in real life, like set of nukes for example :fox-:P:).

Anyways, as for lots of processor power: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00gAbgBu8R4
A lot of people are skeptical about their claims, but I think they make sense as it's done in such a way that the pixels only display one of the many atoms existing (normally how it'd be, which is what takes up tons of power, is the GPU is still rendering all the other atoms, even though they're not displayed on screen).

If that technology ends up in the gaming industry, and is actually what they claim it to be, then a game where you can go anywhere in real life is more possible.  The only thing that would take up tons of power then, would be if you were to simulate real world physics (like, everything).

But I think it'd be cool.

I did not mean realistic graphic wise. but in a mapping prescriptive. realistic. so that we do not see another 200 "carbon cities".  I expect the graphics to probably be no better then that of a need for speed game given current technology. but to have a map of then entire north-american continent inhabited by only the "drivers".
