Random Encounters
« on: January 18, 2007, 01:42:56 am »
If you were in a public place with people you knew, and someone from this group or another furry group recognized you, would you want them to come up to you and say Hello? Would it depend on who the person was? Would you pretend you didn't know the person?

For me, if someone from one of the furry groups I'm in saw me somewhere I wouldn't mind if they said Hello. I'll even answer to Flinch if you call it out. My friends and family all know that I'm a fur, so even if I was with them it wouldn't bother me if another fur said Hello.

I have no problems with that. It'd be just the same as if a friend bumped into me at the mall.

I'll admit I wouldn't openly discuss 'furry' if I was with people who don't know about it but I'd treat you just the same as a friend. ^_^

Aye, it wouldn't bother me at all. I get called Eddy in the real world anyways so I'd probably look at yeh. If it was someone from online I dunno how I'd react.

Wouldn't be bothered at all. It would make a welcome change from bumping into family and people I dont like all the time.

*shrugs* I dunno. First would have to know some real life furs in real life. But I guess I wouldn't be bothered.

I would be very surprised to start, seing as how aperantly all other Norwegian furrs live in Oslo. I wouldn't mind though, in fact, if anyone ever visit Haugesund ya gotta tell me so I can meet ya. I don't answer to anything said by a foreign voice though, so many have my RL name and nickname around here I'm used to it not being me when I don't regognice the voice. (I might respond to Aerion, but no ones called me that vocaly, ever, so I don't know)

This would be surprising. But I would still answer to anyone that knows either my real or furry name. I couldn't care less who's around me, I'll still answer.

I know people of all ages, races, fandoms etc. So when I am out with my friends if I encountered a furry from here I'd run up and hug them and probably invite them out with me. I'm not too fussed, I'd never pretend I never know someone.

Not for nothing, when I first head someone call me Rockaway, I didn't know what to expect.  I met a furry rival that day.  He's cool.  We are more like friends that rivals...  I would be happy to be called out of my real name.  Because it sucks

Your real name doesn't suck. You should never be ashamed of it.

yeah, my real name sucks, not yours.
Just look at it:

Juston

it's often used, but not so oftenly spelled like this.

Behold...

All 7 words, meaning slot machine winnings, meaning good luck...  I hate it.

Everyone should stop having complexes about their names. I couldn't care less what I was called, (except if it was something like shithead ) I wouldn't care if someone came up and greeted me. And who could hate slot machine winnings!!!

My mom knew a girl named Syphillis once. Needless to say the girl changed her name as soon as she was able to.

Whats wrong with Juston?

Everyone that has tried to spell it without reading it has spelled it wrong.
I bet most everyone would spell it wrong if they didn't know how it's spelled in the first place.

I think it would be awesome to randomly meet someone from the internet, regardless of if they were a furry or not. :D
I'm really eager to find out if there are any other furs in my county, but I'll never know until someone says something.

On names: my friend knows someone in the army named Lieutenent Corporal Steven Tickles. Beat that. ^-^ My name has an odd spelling, too (Kristofer), and it constantly gets spelled wrong. I like it though, it grants me a bit of individuality considering that I room with a Chris, know two Chris's on my floor, and am good friends with yet another Chris.

Back on topic: I'd love to meet you guys. imo, a friendship online is the same as one in real life, except that the person lives too far away to talk to in real life. If someone recognized me and called me Lucien, though, that'd be sweet. I wouldn't mind.

I agree with Shilo I don't have a complex about my name as it only gives me a complex about myself.

Same here. I have plenty of friends in RL but they don't compare to my best friend who happens to be from the internet.
