What class to take?
« on: February 19, 2007, 05:42:29 pm »
Well, at my school, we have to take Intersession classes.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it goes for two weeks and they are courses that take the whole day.  Every other class is totally ignored during Intersession.  You don't even get homework to work on during Intersession from your regular class.  Now I'm in a little bit of a dilemma.  We either have to take one two-week course or two one-week courses.  All of the second week one-week (still following?) courses are all really annoying.  If I HAD to pick one (and I really don't like any of them) I would pick this extremely cheesy community service thing (and I get easily bored of community service).  So I could take a two-week course, but then I would want to choose from Film Making 101 and Culinary Adventure - those seem the best.  I don't love Film Making and I don't have any artistic skills at all (does this affect cooking?  I wouldn't know.  I can't draw anything beyond stick figures...).  As of now, I'd probably pick the Film Making class.  But I have to confuse myself further, as I seem to be very good at that, so I love the sound of a one-week course in the FIRST week, History of Cryptology.

Thus, I must choose whether or not to take an "OK" two-week course or a "great" one-week and then a "terrible" one week.

I'm a little confused right now, so I thought I'd get some opinions.  What would you pick?

I adore film making, I was in a few film festivals myself during high school. I would suggest film making, but my second choice would be cryptology.

If youre not sure, ask some of the other students what the teachers are like.  If one is fun, that may influence your choice as well.

I know I loved my film class because my teacher was way cool.

Oh, I took a Maya class last year.  Is it an ID Tech Camps/ID Gaming Academy thing?  That was really awesome.

Alright, I've decided to take the film making class.  I hope it works out.

Now wouldn't it just be terribly ironic if I didn't get my first choice, the film making class?  That would be my sign to crawl in bed and hide for the rest of the year.

I always think you should go for a great one and then a crap one. Gives you more experience really and you may be surprised. Hope this film one goes well for you. ^.^b

Hmmm.  Well the experience didn't go well for me; the film class was canceled, because, with terrible irony, not enough people signed up.  Just my luck.
