At first i was a little 'shocked' if you will, because the first picture i ever saw was a.. Well.. A yiffy picture.
But the word 'furry' was stuck in my head, so i searched it up and found non-yiffy pictures and videos of cons.
Then i was like: :colors: Imma try this.
I seek equality in all fields.

I was aware that they were a sort of subculture around eighth grade, but didn't know anything about them; I liked the fursuiting aspect of it, and thought everyone had one. xD
But when I got to high school, one of the seniors and I shared a class, and he told me he was a furry. He wore tails and collars to school, and nobody gave him any bullshit. Though he did expose me to a purposefully 'yiff'-oriented site. xD I was like, "Okay, some of it's tame, fun stuff, and some other stuff in it is anthropomorphic porn.", or something along the lines of. xD Didn't mind it much.~

I was 11 and all I really thought was that the whole half animal half human concept was intriguing, so I returned to learn more.

"Wait, there's an entire fandom for this vague idea I've had a general fondness for for ages?"

I was quite interested, then as I looked into it more I started finding out about the more... um, bizarre elements. After that, my thoughts were... Well, the five stages of grief. :P

Denial: "Ok, I am most certainly NOT a furry, this thing has some weird stuff..."
Anger: "WHY AM I STILL RESEARCHING THIS?!"
Bargaining: "I'll just read these forums and webcomics, I won't actually get involved."
Depression: "I just joined a forum. I'm officially a furry."
Acceptance: "This is awesome."

At first I was like, "Hm, that looks kinda fun!" But after awhile of asking furries I met online really what the fandom was about, I grew obsessed with it, and now I'm here.

I have always been into "furry" type of stuff like making animal costumes and drawing anthro characters before i even knew that not only were other people into that kind of stuff, but there was a whole fandom of it! you can probably just imagine how awesome that was to find out  :lol-fox: . I first heard about furry fandom on an episode of Weird True and Freaky from Animal Planet and they described a secrative group of people that are into dressing like animals and go to conventions to share art and stuff and i was all "thats. so. cool!". so yah i was basically a furry before i even knew what a furry was  :fox-:P:

I think I remember one of my very ignorant friends going on about furries. I then looked them up and at first I was disgusted. This was only because it was explained to me like...

"Furries are people who dress up as animals and have sex and also draw anthropomorphic sex."

I was disgusted at the idea, but then a month ago, I met a bunny furry and he told me that furries were not what I had thought... well... most of them aren't... So I was... "converted" (as it were) because I was a HUGE fan of the Sonic fandom then. Now this little wolf is on here. :I
I am back, and I'm a new species entirely! :o

Originally in, 6th, maybe 7th grade. I had known what yiff and furries were. Originally i was semi interested. But what threw me off the most was the yiffing. However. After growing to
Understand it more and more. I developed a long term bond with a group of people i gladly call my packmates...they're a bunch of wolves and when i'm with them i feel like a wolf(accepted, part of the pack).

As for what happened with the yiff aspect. It doesn't matter so much to me. I personaly like the feel of fur rubbing against my skin cus it's really soothing. So i don't go against yiff. But i would never yiff with some random i guess(i do a lot of furry roleplay on various rp sites and games and yiff isn't uncommon). I'd have to trust them and have known them for ages if i were to y'know...

I also love the amazing community as a last sidenote. I just love how tight knit these seperate sites can be <3

Well first I just want to say, I went 16.5 years not knowing about the furry fandom. This is sad considering Fur Con (Further Confusion) is hosted like 20 minutes away from where I live. It was back in August that I stumbled upon a tumblr that posted furry artwork. At first I was like "oh this is pretty cool". I slowly grew more fascinated with the art being posted until a month later I finally found out that there was a whole fan base to it.

Sees Made Fur You website and stuff about furries on Buzzfeed.

This is so cool. I wish I had one of those costumes. Maybe I'll create a character...

A day later, after researching furries and creating a fursona...

I had heard about 'em, but never paid much mind.
Then a friend told me that, due to the fact that I always played as an argonian, that I was pretty much I furry.
I dwelled on this.
Said 'Ye'.
They were like 'wat.'
Then I found this website and actually started to consider myself one.
So, here I am. Shootin hoops with a disabled emoji.

At first: "Huh?"
Later: "Nah, this is pretty dank (as in cool)."
Eventually: "I think I'm one of them. Let's see their sights. e621? *throws up*"
More eventually: "Ok, FA? Oh cool, no pr0n."
Specifically last year: "Wolf sona? No. Fox sona? No. Hmm, Let's try Lucario."
A few months ago: "How about raccoon? I'm tired of those last 3 sonas. Oh, FT? Sounds cool."
A few days ago: "God, I'm so indecisive. Damn you, Reptile Man, for coming to my school and letting lizards kiss my face!"
This morning: "Ok, I'm a horned lizard now. Will everyone accept me? *insecurity intensifies*"
Now: "Dazed, I've never played Fallout before... what?... New Vegas is $20? Thanks dude, I'mma go buy it later."

Idk that was kinda random.

Anyone ever notice that Jamie Hyneman looks like Dr. Eggman?

"Oh, we've found Cronenberg Link!" -  Vinny... y'know, from Vinesauce? The guy from Long Island? No? Blegh...

I'm sorta indecisive... about... life I guess... so for now, I am the lizard I guess.
