What helps you stay awake?
« on: February 21, 2013, 05:41:35 am »
I'm trying to stay up so I can fix my sleeping schedule, and was wondering what helped you guys stay up in these enduring times? It usually helps me if I take a walk around the house.

From a person who has very irregular sleep patterns all my life ,just try and keep yourself and your brain active . For example: hanging out with friends , going to an amusement park , play basketball in the local park, etc ( Just don't sit and relax cause it would definitely make you go to sleep). Coffee, energy drinks , and/or caffeine may help you get that " buzz" but ,  it will bring an individual to a sudden " crash "  and it will make more damage mentally ( cause your feeling tired more super quickly ) and physically ( like the energy drinks can have irreversible injury's to one self ). Another great option aswell is to listen to music , watch a great movie ( while standing or on a hard surface  ) to take your brain off the individual being tired ( just watch what movie or a type of music your listening to ). Hope it helps =).

now what u want is to see if you can find a 1 litre bottle of the cheapest energy drink, the cheap ones are MUCH stronger that normal energy drinks and 1 bottle can easily keep you going all night.

I would recommend if you choose this option is to drink it MODERATELY and not drink so much of it because it can cause damage to your insides and we don't want another nice fur to be ill ^__^

Nothing, nothing at all.  If I'm going out, baby I'm out.  Booom
Remember that smile, the one you wore with such beauty and grace?  Where has it gone?  What has happened to put you in this miserable, lonely place?  Smile for me, even it may be the last time I see.  A picture I will take not for myself, no. A picture for the entire world to embrace the happiness you once shared with me.  Just smile...

Personally I like to watch a good movie or show; something that will keep my mind off being tired. Caffeine in small doses can help also, but don't take too much (I drank 4 cups of coffee within like 10 minutes once and it was terrible). Other than that I can't really say much that hasn't been said, just make sure to not think about sleeping too much.  :fox-;):

The internet keeps me awake. Even if I run out of things to do, I'm still always entertained online for whatever reason. But yeah here I am at 1:10am, on FT. I would probably be sleeping otherwise

To stay awake I usually rely on things like caffeine, textbook quizzes, mental stimulants like video games, and other interactive forms of media. They've literally saved me so many times.

Listen to high pitched sounds, drink lots of coffee, keep the lights on, and watch youtube videos.

Personally, loud music wouldn't do much for me if I was extremely tired.
Physical activity might work. Or maybe watching a movie. That way to have more than just sound to pay attention too.

Whenever I want to stay up a while longer, I'll usually watch videos of police pursuits on YouTube. The more exciting chases, like those ending with a crash or PIT maneuver, tend to bring me out of drowsiness rather quickly.

A good and easy way to stay awake is to have blue lights on.

The brain sees blue as "day time" and keeps you awake.

Music also works for me. I listen to http://DI.FM stations as they do good music most of the time and hardly any talking.

Gaming in the form of FPS, Fast driving and puzzles will also keep you up.
