I strongly dislike Rap. I also don't like things like screamo and Death/Thrash Metal stuff.

Screamo is really difficult for me to listen to. When I hear a singer (screamer?) being rough on their vocal chords it makes feel like mine are hurting too. I've heard that some screamo vocalists scream more healthily, but it all sounds very damaging to me.

Dubstep: Imagine the sound of putting a dying cat into a blender then turning that blender on while behind you someone is dragging thier long-ass nails down a chalkboard while a pubescent child is screaming bloody murder in the other room. That is what dubstep sounds like to me...

Reggae: I've never really heard much reggae but I listened to a few Bob Marley songs and decided its probably better to listen to when I'm high. I just can't understand a word they say...

Death Metal/Heavy Metal: I kid you not the first song I listened to was "Bodies" by Drowning Pool, and I made the mistake of turning it up full blast at the beginning when the lead singer was whispering or whatever he was doing. Some angry white people music, I like it mellow to a bit fast paced but not screaming to where you would think the poor guy's freaking out as he has a brain aneurism.

I would say Classic Rock (or alternative), Country-Rock and Classic Country are more my speed. I like a song to have a story if not at least a banjo or some church bells. GARTH BROOKS IS COMING TO HOUSTON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 17 YEARS! YAY!!!

What is trance/trap music? Is it that Asian kinda music people listen to when meditating or like those "sounds of nature" music?

no no, that's Zen and I absolutely love that style its so relaxing. Trance music is like a space style of music... It's sorta hard to explain. While trap is like that "sandstorm" song. Both just go on and on and hurt my ears, trance music is the type of stuff that makes you wonder if you're high or not

Modern country sucks for the most part but classic country is real good. Try any song from someone like Dwight Yokem, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, or Garth Brooks (the thunder rolls)

I'm not a fan of country music, it isn't my thing. However, there are a couple of country songs I don't actually mind. Hm, screamo too. See, I don't mind a bit of a shout in metal songs, but when you sound like an angry chain-smoker that no one can understand, I just bail the song :s

Contemporary (modern) country or Classic country? And yes most contemporary country does suck but who could hate the classics like Conwe Twitty ,Johnny Cash, or even Garth Brooks?

I generally hate country. Most of the time the lyrics are either about love, farms, tractors, and nowadays, maybe partying. Most rap is also hard to stand, but people like Pink Guy, Childish Gambino, and Death Grips make the cut for me.

anything after 2012, there really is no more actual music coming out anymore. it's all just terrible rap or modern wubby bullsh*t!
I'm looking at you dubstep!

I like music you can listen to in the car, I really don't like dance music, it is all just the same song over and over again!

Things haven't changed much since when I posted last year, but I'd like to point out some new discoveries about my own taste.

As much as I dislike (contemporary) country (and am indifferent towards classic), I have heard the style used (usually by alt/indie rock/folk artists) in ways that were actually creative and appealing both musically and lyrically. Similarly, I find myself stumbling upon desirable pop songs more and more often these days. It's still quite rare overall, especially further into the mainstream, but I no longer see the genre itself being as braindead as I used to.

While trap is like that "sandstorm" song.
Actually Sandstorm (I'm assuming you're talking about the Darude song) is trance; a big difference there. That song in particular has nostalgic value for me, but I don't like trance either  :fox-:P:
