Call of Duty: Ghosts
« on: January 24, 2014, 11:14:26 am »
First off, I've heard a lot of bad comments about the game, but when I checked it out, it wasn't all that bad. So, here we go.

CAMPAIGN
The campaign overall had a pretty good story. Although, the only issue I had was the length and the final plot twist. I mean, who survives a .44 magnum shot to the chest? Anyways, I did enjoy the way they used new systems that were never used in a CoD game, such as space and underwater missions. One of the other things I didn't really enjoy about the gameplay was that in the Jungle mission, stealth is key, yet they can see you if you aren't prone. Even if you're standing still and crouching! But the best thing about the gameplay was undoubtably playing as Riley. I mean he's cute, but deadly at the same time! How awesome is that?!
Campaign final score: 3.5/5

Multiplayer

I did enjoy multiplayer mechanics very much, and how some maps resemble storyline maps. However, I believe that sometimes, a hacker will join the game and screw everything up. My favorite mode is Infected because it's fast-paced and you need a quick trigger finger so you won't die. But, once you think about it, some game modes seem to have been based off of Halo Reach.
Multiplayer final score: 4.5/5

Extinction

The infamous substitute for CoD's so-well-know Zombies. Did I like it? Yes, I did. However, I believe that beating the level is near impossible, especially by yourself (Personally, I only made into Hive 2). It's a lot different from Zombies' concept of survival. It does require a lot of teamwork, but even so, it's really hard when you have Rhinos, Hunters and Scorpions attacking you all at the same time while protecting a drill that can't be repaired once broken. But alas, Extinction is incomplete. The lack of maps does kill a bit of the diversity.
Extinction final score: 4/5

Overall a good game. It's just incomplete. No DLCs, no new maps (Excluding Season Pass), and terrible ending.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Final Score: 8.5/10

You did well, Infinity Ward. Just make a more complete game.

I agree with that score, it is my favorite call of duty game as of yet.

And they ended it that way so they can make a part 2.

I never really played the campaign and don't care to and the multiplayer/mechanics are probably the worst out of any cod game, i would rather (and do) play cod 2.
As for extinction, well let's just say they're blantently ripping off WaW's zombie mode with their own twists and they aren't succeeding the game feels to linear, I like zombie mode, A LOT, because you have more freedom to do, and go where you want, oh and 6000$ money cap, seriously? This game was an almost total fail that should and could've been better then what happened.

Call of Duty 2 (NOT MW2, NOT BO 2, JUST 2) Is by far my favorite COD game, and what you said about extinction is correct. I didnt like Ghosts at all. I also forgot to mention that I hate COD games in general.
The fanbase...ho.......Nevermind the fanbase.

I loved the gameplay. some of the weapons though like the Loki and ODIN satellites are a bit unrealistic.  I do like the vehicles. The missions in the campaign when you get to pilot the helicopter and the tank. Its not like the other COD games. I feel it has more freedom than the other COD games.

The ODIN satellites is actually quite possible. It's a kinetic weapon. Alls it is doing I firing an object at earth which picks up speed when it falls. I think it reaches about ten times the speed of sound before hitting the earth so when it hits it can do a lot of damage. Give me a minute and I'll put a link to a video explaining it. And the video is referencing call of duty.

Enjoy. It's about ten minutes long http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rx5XyspHldk

The thing with the ODIN satellite is that it's freaking huge. Which means that It would take too long to even consider a project like this. It wouldn't be cost effective and we already have super weapons. We've had super weapons. take for example the paris gun back in WWII. Fired from Germany to paris. Therefore a weapon such as this will probably never exist.

That bits the unrealistic part. You don't need a massive space station to drop a tube from the sky. A little shuttle could drop one. But they can exist as they would be the only weapon allowed in space. The UN or something along that line made a law making it illegal to have nukes, biological weapons, ect in space. Kinetic weapons aren't included. So in theory if some country wanted a weapon in space without breaking international law then they would use this. The US did plan to do this at on point and called it project Thor.

well, while it might be legal, it could still be corrupted. just like in ghost. You might do something out of good intention, but that doesn't mean EVERYONE has good intentions too. The ODIN satalite was for protection, but the federation took it over and used it against us for their own purposes. just like with any weapon. you buy a gun for home protection, and your kid gets ahold of it and ends up shooting himself by accident. Everything can be corrupted from it's original purpose. and that's something you cant prepare for. that's why the whole story in ghost revolved around unrealistic scenarios. it's because they knew this could NEVER happen in  real life.

Personally, I didn't like ghosts. For a start, the campaign isn't what it was advertised as. It was advertised as a specialist stealth unit and there wasn't a single mission in the game in which you had to remain undetected for the majority of it.
Secondly the multiplayer - what the hell happened to the BO2 ten point system? I liked that, I found that it made classes somewhat less overpowered. I really don't like the new scope layout, with the bifocal graphics or whatever they're called, it just doesn't look nice at all. The killstreaks also ruined it for me. I don't know why, but they just don't feel useable compared to previous games. That and squad points - I unlock a gun, I don't want to spend hours trying to gain so many squad points just to use it even though I've unlocked it. At least with cod points in black ops, you could earn them through contracts.
I will say Extinction is it's only redeeming feature. I do enjoy this mode, more than I enjoyed BO2's earlier zombie maps. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take this mode in the future.
Now please excuse me. I'm going to find a corner safe from the angry mob...

You didn't say this in the games multiplayer so theres no chance of an attack of angry fan boys :lol-fox:. There one of the things which ruin the game also.

Well Ghosts was better than MW3 and BO1&2 because zombies sucks now and thats why I only brought BO1&2 for zombies but it sucks now
Just do it. Don't wait for tomorrow. Because you will just keep telling yourself that.
