« on: February 25, 2014, 06:27:50 pm »
Just a quick random question, but off the top of your head, what top 5 books are yours?  :)

For me this is a hard choice. I enjoy many books, but...

  1. The first 2 Dinotopia books

  2. Murder on the Orient Express

  3. The Hobbit

  4. War of the Worlds

  5. I, Robot

Not in order, since it's to hard to choose.

1. 'Of Dice and Men' by David Ewalt

2. 'A Curious Man: The Strange Life of Robert "Believe It or Not" Ripley' by... I can't remember his name and the book is in my locker at school. -_-

3. 'Poems of William Shakespeare' selected by Lloyd Frankenburg

4. Anything that J.R.R. Tolkien wrote.

5. The 'Sword Art Online' light novel.

and, for the heck of it:

6. My WIP novel, tentatively titled 'Ivan on Planet Eldritch' (if I get this published someday, it's #1)
CH's Song of the Week: "WTF" by Zomboy

The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Jungle, Upton Sinclair
The Awakening, Kate Chopin
The Hobbit, JRR Tolkein
Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison

Most of them are old novels that no one cares about because I only find time to read if school makes it necessary. Right now I'm trying to get through Life of Pi and the a Song of Ice and Fire series, but it is very slow-going, so much that you can assume I haven't started either.

Top 5 book/series in no particular order:
The chronicles of Ancient Darkness - Michelle Paver,
The shapeshifter series - Ali Sparkes
Divergent
The changeling series
5th one is tough to choose, I've read many good books that deserve to be on this list! But I'll probably have to say the Artemis Fowl series, gah it's brain-racking!

I don't have favorites, but five of the best books/series I have read are as follows :fox-:):

-His Dark Materials series (by Philip Pullman, and yes, this is the series with The Northern Lights [The Golden Compass]. I absolutely LOVE this series!)

-The Dragonlance Chronicles (haven't read all of them; there is a rediculous amount of subseries; I mean, there must be nearly a thousand books!)

-Bruiser (by Neal Shusterman. I like all the books by him to some degree; his portray of emotion is absolutely stunning!)

-Flowers For Algernon (by Daniel Keyes. Really, an amazing book; the psychological aspect of what happens to Charlie, the main character, is spot on!)

-I can't really think of any others so: The Looking Glass Wars series (by far, better than Alice in Wonderland!)
