I'm running Win 7. I would upgrade to 8 but doesn't it cost to do so?

I approve!  :lol-fox:
Although... couldn't you do this on any computer? Just have the two windows open.

Anyways, I ,myself, use a windows 8 even though I didn't want one because of the whole home screen thing. That is the only reason why I don't like it. Other than that, I have no problems with it what so ever.

Love Windows 8, a vast improvement in some areas from Windows 7. Plus the faster boot up time compared to a new Windows 7 machine is a definite bonus in my book.
Only thing I wish is that the sides of windows are boarderless, looks cleaner and allows slightly more space then.

I'm well happy with my Windows 7, so why mend that which ent broke? 8.1 is supposed to be the better upgrade, but why shell out extra money for 8 or 8.1 when 7 works perfectly? Better spend it on a game or something. Or an ine cream, or 12345 burgers.  :fox-:P:

Well I just got a new laptop for school, and since my studies will be based on programming, research and engineering, I got a windows 8 one. It took some time to get used to after operating windows 7 for 3 and a half years, but yeah, it's actually pretty good!

The biggest improvement is the fact that the windows button finally has an actual purpose XD

Still, after I graduate from University I'm getting a Mac. I used to hate apple, but after using one for a while, you realize how much more thought through IOS is and just how much hassle free it is. No constantly annoying updates or weird ass questions the pc may request you to confirm.

It's nice for social stuff, but it's not so great if you like to do a bit more than that on your compy. I've just found it to be less user friendly than Win 7 when it comes to being modular.

The quick start-up time and the dual screen thing are the ONLY redeeming qualities about 8.  I'm using my boyfriend's laptop until I get mine fixed; its Windows 8 and its certainly been A Thing getting used to it x-x Not that its complicated, it just feels like a lot of unnecessary steps. Plus I HATE opening the webcam or whatever else if I misclick or drag the touchpad too long :I

Windows 8 is obviously a difficult thing to get used to. But once you are used to it, it is honestly a lot better than previous versions. One of my favorite things is to move my mouse to the upper right so I can simply search for whatever I need to. It's so helpful.

And the 8.1 allows you to automatically open to desktop rather than the regular "Windows Start" which is kind of weird but I guess it can be useful.   It's also a relatively faster system as a whole because it's a whole 1 number ahead. And you can change the touchpad options Panda so it doesn't do that!

The only one bad thing I'll say is that my school has a "cloud" program in which you can connect to it and run any software (ie- Microsoft Word/Photoshop/Visual basic) but this program was made for Windows 7 and it has a lot of bugs when you run it for Windows 8. But it isn't Window's fault; it's the school's fault for not keeping up I guess.
