Feel free to post your works, I'm interested in it all.

Black and white,
Dark and light,
The shadows of day and night.

Yin and yang,
Fur and fang,
Silence where the birds sang.

Young and bold,
Noble and old,
The winter winds blow cold.

Feel the fire,
The clever liar,
The youth and his sire.

Wrote this after a bad break up:

Regret, sorrow, despair
Two hearts broken beyond repair

Once again in life I find myself alone
in the endless winter that chills to the bone

Longing for the companionship I once held so dear to my heart
Wondering how could I let us part

He was the light kept me from going astray
The sunshine on a rainy day

The one who would hold me close at night.
When I thought I would not make to greet the mornings  light

The one that told me everything's okay,
Made the fears of the darkness drift away.
Now my refuge lays within the very loneliness and darkness that was kept at bay

My sprit broken, my moral low
Like the injured solider waiting for the final blow

The wounds I carry will never heal, though they are not physical
I assure you they are very real...

They carry with them the weight of a thousand pounds  on my heart, they call to the darkness, they tear me apart...

As my life around me slowly falls to pieces
The darkness welcomes me back with cold dead lifeless arms, that relentlessly never releases...

I'd rather laugh with the sinners then cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun only the good die young!

It's . . . definitely very depressing.

I shall stand tall,
When the shadows fall.

When through the ground,
The blood seeps.
When over the graves,
The willow weeps.

When the grass sways,
With wind unblown.
When the sky is empty,
Where the hawk has flown.

When all is silence,
And silence gone.
When all is grey,
And bleak is the dawn.

When all else leave,
In panicked flight.
When all that's left,
Are the shadows of night.

I shall stand tall,
When the shadows fall.

I'm such a cheeky shit
---

One day in Marina Bay I settled for sausage
when a whale soared out of the sea into my palm
and sang a song of Big Ben's chiming

It used to swim in the ocean made of white octupuses,
hence I wiped it off my face and asked for more.

Mummy how do blue basketballs bounce into beaches?

Rub my cheeks and I will soar
430 miles into the atmosphere.
And since the world looks smaller from up here,
I will dominate the skies with my whip and spear.

I can't write that well,
But hiaku are quite easy,
So I have made one.

^ay, haikus are easy

The sky is empty,
The hawk takes flight.
All is as it should be,
But all is not right.

Take to the sky,
Learn to fly.
Escape the world,
On wings unfurled.

Come to earth,
Hit the ground.
Show your worth,
Astonish and astound.

Find you home,
No longer roam.
Take to the sky,
Learn to fly.

I am old,
My bones won't hold,
What am I doing here?

Living a life,
Full of strife,
Why do I hold on?

Day in, day out,
Try not to scream, try not to shout,
Why can't I tell my fear?

Grimace and smile,
Walk the mile,
Where do I belong?

~ Clouds ~

Nothing can become everything all at once,
Shallow, deep, hollow, full, free, bound,
The most boring of sights becomes the most profound…
To see with your eyes wide open is the same as with eyes tightly shut,
For if eyes be open too wide you miss an aspect without fail,
But those with eyes shut know the backs of their eyelids in detail…
Regardless of what you see or what you don't,
As long as you feel the words that have been spoke,
Then the depth, perception, bias of the eyes need not apply,
Don't look…think, don't stare…observe, for one moment let your eyes be shy…

Open your eyes...
Look around to see what has already been seen
Go places to be where others have already been
Walk up to a bench to sit where others have sat.

Open your mind...
Read about issues to learn what has been learnt
Observe your surroundings and think what people have thought
Expand your experiences and teach something that others have taught.

Open your heart...
Embrace someone with love who has felt loved
Cradle a tear as your heart breaks like others have broken
Lock the key and don't wake what has already been awakened.

Open your arms...
Hold people close for though they've been held, they need more
Take the hand of a hand well held, for they need you as well
Cuddle someone you love because they have felt all of the above...
And they wanted you
And you are the only thing in your life that no one else has been...

Looking down at the clouds beneath, next to, surrounding me,
They can be the keeper of infinite shapes your mind gets for free,
But to jump towards desire onto a suddenly hollow bed of white,
You, too, will feel the thud of falling through an object deceived as whole by sight,
For as you fall into the fluffy array of purity you will swiftly discover,
That the transparent clouds of vapour are hardly even a cover,
Once falling you are powerless to stop and there is no eject,
Just to keep falling for the beauty in which you have met,
Such a belief can sometimes be right,
For as Christopher Marlowe once said "who ever lov'd that lov'd not at first sight"…

…thump…

Here is one of mine
Title: The World's Beauty

Take a look at the world's beauty
Be in awe of its splendor
From the morning of a sunrise
To the stars that envelop the night sky

From The pleasant forests,
and the gentle winds that sweep through the trees
The sun's light filters through,
And the birds fly from their nests to sing.

A field of flowers
A captivating aroma fills the air
In a nice sequestered spot,
And sheltered by the sky

There is beauty in this world
We must not forget this
Of such excellence,grandeur
It inspires.

The world is breathtaking,
And is too much for mere words to describe
The world should not be looked upon with disgust
But should be recognized as elegant, and marvelous

Each day is a precious gift,
And a chance to look upon the world's heavenly beauty.
Look as if you are opening your eyes for the first time,
And you will admire all of it's magnificence.

I'm not a poet,
But when I see the distant ocean out of window,
I wonder,
Will life be as pure as a kid on Christmas?

Not all people agree,
So why is there a disconnection to the world,
But we connect?
Still confused? Then perhaps this will enlighten you!

Middledistancerunner. I managed to save just a little bit of money. You and I can both get jobs, and we'll finally see what it means to be living.

Cycles:

The white of winter
Leaves some old and bitter
For children a chance to play
For others, tis but a dreary day
But those cold and wet, don't need to fret.
For tomorrows a new day.
And all things start again.
Tis spring now, and the children play.
While others toil away.
Something's never change.

confusing, jumbling, gobolty mess
causing such foolish and simply preposterous stress
blurring the mind and contorting the dreams
tearing this young boy apart at the seams

through ups and downs as emotions do loops
and nothing to do while he's stuck in his coop
awake in his bed as he's turning at night
cause what's in his mind has gave him a fright

alone in the dark with no friends it may seem
as kids are so ridiculously mean
the background, the stage he always called home
collecting the knowledge that's filling his dome

a loner that's always been all on his own
without a real place that he could call home

I came up with this on the spot

Time is a very strange thing.
But what is it's purpose? What does it bring?
Yes it helps make a schedule,  plans our day.
We just end up toiling away.
As we try to keep up with time
We are forced to stay focused, stay in line.
We dont see that we are bound to something that doesn't exist.
Long ago humans made time up, like a myth.
It doesn't occur in nature just in our mind.
We made it (like all advancements) to help improve our lives.
But we have forgotten to live in the here and the now.
We are all just running around.
Worrying about what "was" and "what will be"
To distracted to see what I see.
That yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners then cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun only the good die young!

Title: A High School Crush

The feeling of being near you,
So peaceful, so sweet
Like the gentle light from the moon,
And the cool breeze that flows through the air.

My heart skips a beat
For whenever I am near you my worries disappear
My solitude is broken
When I am near you I never want to feel alone.

Your beauty is inspiring,
And your personality ethereal
Your smile lifts my spirit
It feels like I am in a dream.

You give me hope
Like the stars that shine in the sky
The flowers that cover a field
You are like the rising sun.

Like magic you feel the empty void in my heart
You soothe my soul with your gentle touch,
For you are an angel sent from heaven
I look into your eyes, stirring something deep inside me.

I wrote this for a girl I like in my school. We hang out a lot with friends but I always find myself talking to her. I plan on reading it to her. I hope she likes it.  :fox-:):

Ah god, I let this die. Horribly. Like page 4 dead. That's depressing, I don't write enough poetry. How can I call myself a bard? Let's see, what to write . . .

The cat smiles,
a grin of death,
The hunting trials,
prey hold their breath.

He strikes out,
blades flashing steel,
A choked shout,
a last appeal.

The cat smiles,
the grin of death,
The hunting trials,
bring suspended breath.

This is undoubtedly lame. Okay, I gotta go rethink my poetry, because that was crap.

I kinda have a different style than what is already here (or at least i believe so), witch is what inspired this.

There are many kinds of poetry,
Some have rules, some are more free.
Many use words that make sense,
And many make up words like "gallrifrence",
Is it short? Is it long?
Does it rhyme words such as "ping pong"?
Is it wacky, or maybe fun,
Or will you want to scream and run?
All the ways to write, you see.
So many kinds of poetry.

No very good at poetry but Ill give it a shot.

When the dust falls, there will be no rejoice.
Two armies stand, dead and defeated.

Blood on their iron and fleece.

In the start of the brawls , they had no choice.
Winning the land, but no one to greet it.

Now they only wish for peace.

Of course I didn't use a rhyming dictionary...

a story
a tale
