Thoughts on How to Train Your Dragon 2
« on: June 20, 2014, 11:35:05 pm »
So I am REALLY curious as to see if anyone has actually gone to see it yet. It's still rather new. How to Train Your Dragon was one of my most inspirational animated films I have seen(which is why I want to see the second). I guess it's my love for mid-evil times (if that's the correct time .-.), and Dragons/Animals. But just as I wanted to see Ironman 3 because I loved all of them, it came to be that I thought it wasn't really worth spending so much money to go and see it in theaters.
I was wondering if it was actually worth spending $30 (ticket and food) to see it in theaters or wait until it comes out on DVD to buy it for probably only $20.
Leave your thoughts below, but try not to spoil anything!

As in a mystic dream I hear
Their gentle accents kind and dear —
The old familiar voices.
They have no sound that I can reach —

Englishmen problems. <|3

I think... it... it depends. Usually with kids' animations like this, the focus is more on the humourous plots and characters than the stunning visuals you'll be missing out on if you don't see it in the cinema.
That said, I'm definitely going to see it in the cinema. My friends and I are incredibly excited and we want to share the experience and not have to wait for the DVD release (which won't be for ages) or a crappy online version.

They usually come out with the DVD two or three weeks after the movie stops airing I believe, or after release date, where I live anyways. But yeah. Someone told me they were taking me so I am pretty excited. xP

How i like to describe the movie

8/10 from toothless alone, everything else pushed the movie off the scale. They do keep in quite interesting, and there are some turns that you dont expect. I just have a really unpopular opinion about a better version of the ending, which would have made it sadder.

If there was a DLC for this website I'd buy it.

My family just bought it on Vudu and we all watched it together. I loved it, it had a good balance between sad and funny giving me that feeling of "Oh no" and "Ahh what just happened, did that really just happen" or "no that can't be what just happened" but also giving you that point where you get a laugh and feel better, which is perfect considering the movie is directed at a younger audience and don't just want the kids to feel sad making them like it less. Though I do have to say I am always a bit partial to any movie that has a dragon in it that the people don't kill.

Loved it! Absolutely loved it! 100%! I have a digital copy on my phone and I watch it every week, although some parts could've used more explanation I really love the development between toothless and hiccup. How they both needed each other in order to do regular things and all of the bonds between the the dragons and their riders was so heartwarming.

One of my favourite animated movies. Right up there with All Dogs Go To Heaven.

Watched it last night and OMG it was amazing!!! I've never been a huge HTYD fan, the first movie was good, I enjoyed it and toothless was adorable but I was never obsessed with it like a lot of people. The second one ended up being really good! It enjoyed it more the the first. I loved the story and toothless was adorable again <3 I wished it ended a bit different, and from the other comments I think people had the same idea as me. Now I sort of want to get myself a toothless plush :$ it's totally worth a watch, especially if you liked the first. I'd give it a 9.2/10
