How Many Fursonas Do You Have?
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:08:57 pm »
Lately I have been having so many fursonas and want to change my fursona again, but I feel like I have to have only one. Is it ok to have different fursonas? Do you have multiple fursonas?

I used to think about the idea of having multiple fursonas, but over time I've just solidified everything into one character :3

I'm not saying that having multiple fursonas is a bad idea, I know plenty of people that have more than one, but that's just how it's gone for me over time.

You could have one, two, or fifty, it really doesn't matter, it's all up to you :3

I just have my one...
WITH different forms.
I would suggest something like that, or maybe even a full shape-shifter...
Having separate 'sonas comes off as a little confusing to me at least at points... so...
But it's up to you of course...

I have one, but a second one is waiting to be developed. I just need to get around to it before he dissapears.
Aisu Umo, a Tengu. Tengu are well, for an easy description, Kitsune except a raven instead of a fox.

I have two fursonas. This one is my main, and the other one is an eagle.

There's nothing wrong with more than one fursonas. I think that's actually fun because more than one 'sonas means more ways to enjoy being a furry.

I love how you incorporate Yōkai  as your fursonas. It's a wonderful idea.

Why have magic powers and make yourself special when you can simply be something that already exists. It's fun to invent, but it gets a little to crazy, so I like things that exist, but are not the most well known, and are still unique. Why go through all the bother of saying he has wings, he can Shapechange, he is this, he is that, and just bungling the whole thing up into some super special critter when you can be something that is already there, and just say what you are in one breath.

I don't understand, what do you mean by this? In what way could you enjoy it more by having more fursonas?

Let's say that you like roleplaying. Usually, furries like to RP with their fursonas, so more than one fursona means more personalities, backstories, ways others interact with you, etc.

Also, if you're of the artistic type and like to make drawings of your fursona (like me, but I'm not that good yet), having another one gives you more variety to what you draw (this is from experience, so this might not apply to others)

I'd hardly consider that enjoying it more, but rather just having more to enjoy :3

I have two:

my main, which is ryan the wolf, is how i generally like to represented in the fandom. He's really just like me, and its really easy to just be yourself.
My alt (sergal), was an interesting character i made personality wise that i just decided to keep. he's just an interesting personality that i use if i want to have a change of pace.

But you can always draw whatever you want, or have a different Roleplay characters for each game. You don't have to have separate sonas just to feel like your not limited

I have Frost (the fluffy arctic fox in the picture to your left) and Eon, an immortal anthro Ninetales. Mostly I use Frost, but I'm all for making a new fursona when I feel like it. Mostly they just fade away, but it's good fun in the meantime.
I love a good ear scratch (hint hint).

I have two at the moment. There's Aika, the malamute, who's my main sona, but I consider him more of an internet alter-ego/alias.
Then there's Sylo, the black panther, who's slowly becoming my sona for character driven purposes, like roleplaying for example.

I know that it's not necessary to have more fursonas. For me it's easier to draw my fursona because if I try to draw something new I'll start to pay a lot of attention to the details as I think of them (gender, height, fur pattern, etc.). That doesn't mean that I always draw Proto or my alt. I do like to experiment a little every once in a while.

As for the Roleplay, I think it adds to the fun creating a new character for each game. I actually like thinking of every single detail for my character for these (Besides, it can change your experience if, for example, your main fursona doesn't has wings, but your alt does)

I only have Jack right now but I've thought about creating some other 'sonas. Some of the ideas that have come to mind are a horse (Spirit style), a mouse (Redwall style), a dog (Disney style), and a lioness (TLK style). I'm not sure how many of these I'll actually design but I'll see how I like them. They might become alternate 'sonas.  :lion:
