This is a very…interesting movie. From the trailers, my family thought this was gonna be like an average Marvel movie, where there's over-the-top action, huge battles, explosions and such. But no, the film mostly focuses on philosophies and what Lucy can do the more she accesses her brain. And in my opinion, that's pretty cool, especially when we see how much she gets smarter as the movie goes on. And as of the ending, it was just perfect and subtle, an element I love in films. Lucy is just one of those movies that makes you wonder about life and how much potential humanity has in the universe :) 9/10

I haven't seen this film yet, but because of these things you've mentioned it sounds interesting.

although the whole idea that humans use only 10% of their brains is utter horsecrap considering that we use different parts of our brains for different things...

I have never heard anything about this film, no trailers no posters no nothing. Looking on wikipedia it hasn't been shown in British cinemas yet, but it does look like a cool film.
Just a thought being thrown in here, I think it means we use only 10% of our brain at any given time? We can be using different parts of our brain, but overall it's just 10% of our total brain power?

EDIT: How come when Matilda said about the 10% thing, it didn't get any criticism from it (as far as I'm aware)?

We almost always use much more than 10% of our brains at any given time, even when sleeping, watching television and attempting maths exams.

All I've heard of this film it the idiotic myth which it is helping spread, and it doesn't really sound very interesting to me.

Im sorry, but fuck this movie, I don't care how fucking good it is or how hot Scarlett is, I can't even take this movie because its based off of a fucking annoying myth, NO we don't use 10% of our brain, thats fucking bullshit, It just perpetuates this pseudo-scientific fact based purely on human stupidity and I hate it.

Did anybody else notice...The movie's VERY similar plot to the anime Elfen Lied?... Even the main character in Elfen Lied is named Lucy...

It's... an interesting film to say the least. Generally, the more seriously you take movies, the less you'll like it. If you are really analytical & want more legitimate movies, it's not really for you. If you take it more light-heartedly as an action movie based off of a pretty loose idea, chances are you'll enjoy it.
That's how I see things anyway.

I've seen part of the anime & all of the film. Yeah I guess they're pretty similar.
