Blocking Pictures?
« on: August 26, 2014, 12:56:41 am »
I tried uploading a picture through BBCode by following this wiki article I read (I'll link it here: http://m.wikihow.com/Upload-Images-in-BBCode) and I followed all their instructions using TinyPic.  Apparently, when I got my image and tried uploading it, the link "t i n y p i c . c o m" in the BBCode turned into "blocked".  I'm not really entirely sure what is going on, but I hope this can get fixed.  I had to type out the website with spaces so it woyldn't come out as "blocked". Wow...

You are trying to post the photo here I assume.

TinyPic is not supported on the forum, or something along those lines.

I use PhotoBucket when I post pictures on the forum.

Tinypic is notorious for having such serious server issues that, before we started disallowing images from them, embedding images hosted there frequently made the site unusably slow in some browsers.  Admittedly, it's been a long time since we implemented that filter, but as far as I'm aware, Tinypic's reliability has only gone down, not up, over the years.  So, yes, using another image host will work just fine, but not TinyPic.
