Is the 70/80's Australian Music scene underrated?
« on: October 18, 2014, 10:41:56 am »
I think it is as it's not as talked about as the 80's LA music scene, 80's/90's Manchester scene or The British Invasion of the 60's. I mean the 70's/80's Australian music scene provided such artists as:

AC/DC
INXS
Men At Work
Midnight Oil
The Church
Divinyls
Crowded House

And other great artists such as:
Sherbert
Skyhooks
Cold Chisel
Hunters & Collecters
Hoodoo Gurus
Australian Crawl
Icehouse
The Angels (or known in the US as Angel City)
Paul Kelly
Rose Tattoo
Jimmy Barnes
Mental As Anything

All of these bands are very influential in my home country Australia and in other countries.
I like to hear what you guys think about this.

Oh hey, another aussie!

I don't know, I have found it to be pretty big here in WA, as well as where I am in the US at the moment. Seems like a lot of 70s and 80s are played on the US radio stations.
