Looks like I got dragged along. Gotta work on some easy songs. Teenage Kicks and another one I can't get a decent copy of unless I download, which sucks, because I don't know what key the song is in and can't find out with hearing because the bass in these tracks is barely audible... and I'm expected to learn it by Friday, so... x.x

I finished up most of my projects for now and I feel like learning a new song...  Can anyone suggest some songs for the guitar?  I'm looking for very, very, challenging stuff this time.  I don't want anything too metal though, but if you think it's good, I'll search for tabs and try to learn it.

Pull Me Under- Dream Theater

Challenging, and not extremely heavy!

I've been looking to do a Dream Theater song for a while now.  I know of John Petrucci and his legendary picking, but I just didn't see much of it when I downloaded the tabs for Pull me Under.  He's defiantly holding back in that song.  I also looked at Erotomania.  I defiantly like the ascending and descending runs he does towards the end of the song.  I just might look into that.  IDK, if I can't find anything else, I'll just learn another Paul Gilbert song, I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it.  I'll still look into other suggestions though.

If you're looking for a good example of his legendary style, try learning "Under a Glass Moon" (including the solo)
Or, if you want something faster...try "Acid Rain" by his side project Liquid Tension Experiment

Under a Glass Moon was defiantly awesome, but sadly, I couldn't find any reliable power tabs on it (the tabs were rated only 3 stars out of 5.)  I especially loved the solo.  It was a very...  interesting solo.  From what I heard, it covered many forms of playing.  The melody, sweeps, tapped harmonics, wide interval leaps and whammy flutters were amazing.

I found good tabs for Acid Rain, but the song was done on a seven-string...  I can't learn the whole song now  :sad-fox:  I'll probably download that anyways to learn parts of it.  Thanks!

The riffs aren't hard to play, and a lot of fun. If you're a guitarist, good luck with the solo XD

I half learning I Know You're Here by Steve Vai.  By half learning, I mean I'm not totally hell-bent on learning it since it's impossible to stay true to the original at all.  Plus those sweeps are killing me...

I finished Rain by Jason Becker and Epilogue For Lisa by Shawn Lane a while ago too.

I'm not focused that much on learning songs now, since I'm working on my improv a lot, but I'll probably work on Altitudes by Jason Becker next...  Wish me luck!
