To be honest, your best resource will probably be Google. Just look for 'similar music' websites and really that's all you'll need unless you're specifically looking for obscure artists.

Hmm... I don't listen to this stuff much but I do have a few groups.
Rap rockish stuff:
Falling In Reverse
Hollywood Undead
Gorillaz (kinda)

Metal:
Disturbed (really good! recommended)
Five Finger Death Punch (also amazing)
Avenged Sevenfold
Tool (only a little metal, to me)

And of course:
Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
Alice in Chains

Huh.
Not 100% sure if this is what you are looking for, but Street Sweeper Social Club is pretty good. promenade would probably be my favorite song of theirs.

I'm not sure if this is the right kind but Skillet sounds AWESOME! (Whispers in the Dark, Monster, and many of their songs sound really cool!)

For metal I'd suggest Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and/or W.A.S.P.

Just like a burn will linger, she crept between my fingers, and to my body she has now become a new disease. A fog to cloud vision, more like an apparition. She made a mess and now abandoned me.
