Just like the title says, what songs lyrics make you stop and think? Mine is by Disturbed in the song Divide , "Can you tell me what exactly does freedom mean, when I'm not free to be as twisted as I want to be?"
  • Pronouns: He/him/his
"If you give me food I will love you for eternity."

"Keep it inside, the image portrayed as if I couldnt stand losing as if I couldn't be saved, no way.
A small confession I think I'm starting to lose it, I think I'm drifting away from the people I really need!
A small reflection on when we were younger, we had it all figured out 'cause we had everything covered.
Now were older and it's getting harder to see what this future will hold for us, what the fuck are we going to be?"

"I'm locked inside
A land called foolish pride
Where the man is always right
He hates to talk but loves to fight
Is that all right?
On real cold days
He loans us lots of hate
But he says that we must pay
To take it all away
Is that ok?
But I'm asking you will you stay with me
In this land where we are free
And I know its rough and you've had enough
But one day we'll be happy
When I look into the future
I see danger in its eyes
Hearts of hatred rule the land
While others left outside
Killing, Bleeding Citizen
While music slowly dies
And I get frightened I, see I get frightened"

I love Exile by Tesseract, it speaks to two ideas I am fascinated with. One, the equilibrium of life, and the purpose of suffering, with lyrics like:

Who will I be?
How will I live to tell what I have seen?
Must I endure the hell that comes with the peace?
An equilibrium of god's own release
What does it all mean?
How can he justify?
How can we breathe
When the stagnancy's choking me?
How can we dream?
The nightmare
The reality
How do you sleep at night?

and the other idea is being paralyzed from all the possibilities, wanting to do so much but doing so little:

This life of stone
The hand of god I'm too tempted to bribe
I'm getting old and growing paralyzed
We're all alone
Until we let our minds take to the skies

Our blood runs cold yet we remain alive

What's the confliction between heart and mind?
How to bridge the void?
Fuse the two in kinship
To understand your prospects and vistas
And yet to see the love here too
It's more than I can do
Vows and pursuits which at best hollow
I remain torn in two

Absolomb by Periphery is about... well absolomb XD The idea that you can love and care about someone forever, past time and space, and the fear of never seeing someone again. It makes me consider if you can really care about someone that deeply, and it makes me wish I had a friend like that. It's an interesting place, where you never let go of someone completely, beyond death and the universe, still wishing that you will see eachother once more. The lyrics are a bit longer so look them up if you are interested.

Every. Single. Sleeping. At. Last. Song.
I could go on for hours about how much his music makes me think, but I'll limit myself to a couple of my favorite lines:
"If love's elastic, then were we born to test it's reach? ... All revelations come to us in recovery ... Cry yourself to sleep, cry a storm of tears if it helps you breathe" (Homesick)
"If life is a series of narrow escapes, We're shifting our weight, In this tightrope ballet. We're down to the wire." (Wires)
"Our questions are all the same. Identical words; how they feel brand new against different time frames." (Bad Blood)
"With shortness of breath, I’ll explain the infinite, How rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist." (Saturn)
