I love folk ^_^ literally just posted on your introduction before I saw this thread. My favorite folk artists are:
Simon and Garfunkel
Jim Croce
Peter, Paul, and Mary
I'd say with folk I usually just end up liking specific songs rather than specific artists... So these are the only ones Ican really say I've heard enough of to say I genuinely like them.

Wow that's super cool! They sounded really good. ^_^ I completely forgot about Crosby, Stills, Nash (and Young) as well as John Denver. They're great too. And there's some that idk if you'd consider them folk, like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Creedance Clearwater, The Eagles, and The Allman Brothers. They all could be considered folk, but more easily considered something else so that's why I didn't mention them...but what the heck, here ya go :P

I listen to a lot of folk-rock. :fox-:): Has anyone heard of Al Stewart? His main genre is folk-rock.

I also have a teacher that writes folk music. Obviously not sharing his name for privacy reasons, but he's a pretty cool guy.

I like some folk music and several contemporary songs take inspiration from the genre. I know Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin opens with a folk segment and carries a progressive cadence to rock through hard rock. I know that many famous artists have also delved into folk music including Johnny Cash and John Denver.
