I just wanted to say that I love this site and everyone on it. It's one of the few forums/communities that I was ever really able to get into and feel safe in. Ive really enjoyed my time here, getting to know you guys and I'm sure going to miss it. I've felt safe enough here to be very open about myself, my sexuality and my religion here which are things I normally hide on other sites. We had a great community here and it's sad that it has to come to an end. I fully understand why Meadow wouldn't want to pay for a site anymore that has become such a spot for bullying, harassment and blackmail. We all need to work together if we want to fix this

I love all you guys <3 you're of course allowed to add me on Skype, Telegram etc so we can keep in touch in case the site does close

 :(

I may have only been a member for 1 or 2 months but I'm sure I speak for many of us fellow furs that the present situation is heartbreaking and that a closure of the site would deeply affect us all. I may have not been around here long enough to become fully aware of the extent of the negativity taking place but I am shocked that it has come down to this.

When I decided to join the fandom I was at attracted to it by it's loving and carrying community. A group where anyone can be themselves and express their own personalities without fear of being judged or insulted. It's a one true united community of happiness which I wanted to be a part of. By the way things sound, this apparently isn't the community of FT; and frankly I'm disappointed. Despite all this, buried beneath this vail of hatred somewhere are shining lights that represent the community I envisioned above; lights that are inextinguishable.

What I'm trying to say is that there is still much good out there and that the community that liberated me into this fandom can and should emerge. I don't think you should shut this wonderful site down. Like many have said, this is a safe haven for them, a place where many regularly visit and socialise, for me this is the hub or primary port of call for accessing the community. This site has done so much good for so many people and I believe it should continue on to help more people. More and more people are joining the fandom and they need this place to properly become a part of it and call them selves a furry.

When I clicked that sign up button to become a member of this site I did it because I loved the concept behind it. I looked around the forum and liked what I saw, it was something I wanted to become a part of. It gives me a sense of acceptance and that nice warm feeling of being among friends. Shutting it down would leave so many furs abandoned and displaced. Where would all the new furs go? Would we even get any new teen furries if there was no Furry Teens?

This site has the potential for great things, even if it means a new management system or a complete overhaul. Regardless there needs to always be an open and welcoming front door to the community weather it be FT or it's successor. I thank all the staff for the uncredited hours of time and dedication they put into the running and upkeep of the site and wish from the bottom of my heart that the positive, inclusive, perfect community will return soon.

What if, for the moment, we close down registration so that we a can work things out with each other on the site?

It's a big gamble but something that might work

That thought crossed my mind earlier; but I think that a continuing flow of members is kinda essential to a place like this since we naturally have a high turnover.
Plus we're not exactly the fastest at account approvals right now anyways
Maybe keep them all waiting until things can be sorted out? Have a message at the application screen, after they've been sent saying "than you for registering, the site is currently under a remodel and you will be accepted once we have finished. Warm regards, FT Staff"
I actually really like that idea, and a confession thread seems like a good thing as well.
I'm not going to sugarcoat it, when I saw that ft was going to be shut down, I felt as if I had lost a part of me, ft for the past few weeks has pretty much been the only thing keeping me sane and to see it go would be devastating, so maybe we should try a witch hunt, maybe weeding out all the bad eggs is a good idea. I don't know, maybe I'm just stupid. but I do think that more can be done.

Witch hunting is bad. The bad eggs probably know who they are for the most part and should come forwards themselves privately to staff.

yeah, but they won't.
they get a kick out of causing pain so they'll just milk it.
who's to say a little encouragement is out of the question?

How are you going to do a witch hunt anyway? There's not always evidence, and not always on the forum.

We're trying exactly not to have a witch-hunt. That's not fair to anyone.
However, I also have little faith at this point that people will come forward. So, you guys have really put us in a bind.

Do we want this site to stay around? Absolutely. Are we going to keep trying? Yep.

But the point is, change can't happen unless you guys want it to. And that means action, not just saying you want things to change and then continuing to cause or ignore problems.

That's not entirely true there. It's best to let others explain themselves and their actions, with this going on they  may step forward due to guilt about things and own up for their mistakes.

I'd hate to say so, but I think that a ban, even temp, is in order for those with sufficient evidence against them.
I've seen situations like this before, and leniency also seemed to be the cause. Not something to be ashamed of,  leniency, just sometimes you gotta' put the foot down.
I don't know, I'm.. agh.

I agree. But, the staff should do what they can and whatever they want.  They're busy and some things to take care of this might be hard or they may not feel it's the best thing to do.

How much do you care about FT? Would you like us to stay around? Have we helped you in some way? Do you have any ideas for making things better?

I care about FT  a lot and I would love for it to stick around. This forum's been so great for so many people. The issue is making it better. A lot of bad things have been going on, and some of us were aware and some weren't, but I think this topic is a VERY good wake up call for the entire forum.

Everyone needs to reflect on their own actions, how they behave here and off site, because how you behave offsite DOES HAVE AN EFFECT HERE. We've seen it several times, have we not?

Take some self reflecting time and actually TRY TO MAKE THIS PLACE EVERYTHING YOU THINK IT IS AND WANT IT TO BE. Staff CANNOT do everything for us. We as members have a responsibility to make this place safe and fun too.

It is easy to forget there's a real person behind the screen, I know I've done it, and I've done the best I can to remember it.

You have to think about the kind of person you are and who you want to be.

Do you want to be the kind of person that bullies and blackmails others? Or do you want to be the kind of person people trust and think good things of? Which will make you feel better?

Think about your past actions and where you want to go from here guys. I can't believe it's come to this.

just wondering, would a confession thread incur a ban at this point?
because that does seem like the best idea I've seen all day...

I think people, if they confess, should do so privately to staff. If they choose to post publicly that's their choice but it's quieter if they just tell staff.

If a confession thread was brought up somewhere, I must have missed it.
I have no idea what that entails, and from what it sounds like, it doesn't sound like the best course of action. So could you elaborate?

They want to make a thread where people publicly confess their wrongdoings when it comes to things on FT.

Even If there was a thread people wouldn't confess
People like that don't just confess things publicly. I know they'll avoid saying anything until someone tells them. So if you know any of these people you should talk to them and tell them to pm staff for the sake of the site

on second thoughts you're right.
and if people were to confess, it would make many flame wars ironically.
so let's get the word out.
PEOPLE OF FT! IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO HAS ATTACKED YOU ON FT OR IN RELATION TO FT, TELL THE STAFF ABOUT THEM! SEND EVIDENCE AS WELL!

I feel that a confession thread would cause more issues than it would help. If people have anything to confess, messaging staff would be a better course to take. That way it's private and confidential. Anything public like this is always at the risk of flame wars and witch hunts which is not what we want right now. We want to build the community back up not tear people down for the mistakes they made
