Is there anyway to change the Look and Feel settings to use 24-Hour Time?

I believe there's already an option for this, if you go to the "look and layout" part of your profile it's the third option on the time scroll down menu ^^

How long does it normally take to either be allowed or denied entry to a special access group?

A couple days at most; we don't get many requests so we don't check it too often. Sorry for the delay

Did the insert quote button ever work? or is it just decoration?
I've seen that button on other forums that look like FT and it's broken on those too.

It stopped working years ago, and I honestly have no idea why.  If someone ever figures it out, please let an admin know, because there are a lot of Javascript-dependent features that also don't work for similar reasons; fixing one will fix all of them.

What does it mean when a member or staff is doing an "unknown action"?
I've had a lot of people ask me this but I never know what to tell them

It can mean one of two things:

1.  The user's last click was to go to a page or perform an action that you don't have access to see/know about.  Unless you're an admin, this is the most common.
2.  The user's last click was to go to a page or perform an action that the activity list doesn't quite know how to describe.  The potential actions come from a pre-populated list, and anything that isn't on the list shows up as "Unknown".  I don't actually know what the potential unknown actions are, but I think one of them is uploading an avatar.

I'll have to take a look at the code closer, but by what I see, the reply box is a Rich Text Box embedded using javascript (personally I prefer vbscript but it only runs properly in IE.) Correct? The Insert Quote button appears to be a link. A link is always difficult to connect to javascript, and things change in new javascript updates. If it was a button, assuming every reply is declared as a string, you could run a javascript function like the following:
Code: [Select]
function exampleFunction() {
replyBox.Text = ("
" + _ + GetText(quoteContents.Text) + _ + "
");
return null;
}

_ symbolizes a new line.
I'm pretty sure this isn't working javascript code, but I'm more of a VB guy. I hope I got the general point across.

How does the coding for the posts work? How hard was it to get it to count posts in every bored exept for spam? If someone went to: (Random names) profile > show posts, would they be able to see posts from locked bored, even if they didn't have access to the bored?

It's coded right into the SMF software so it was pretty easy, just a button in the board premissions. And no a member cant see posts from a board they don't have access to even if they go to the "show posts" section

What happens if you lose your password and email? Also, what would happen if your account got hacked, or if a family member starts to be rude on here?

If you lose your password and don't have access to the email to reset it, get in contact with one of the Admins and we'll reset the email for you (usually people have another member on the site contact us for that)

I'm not entirely sure what your second question is asking, but, if your account was hacked we'd probably be able to pick up on it (like if you're suddenly making out-of-character posts) and be able to stop it until we can get in contact with you

At the top of threads, I frequently see something along the lines of "(usernames) and __ Guests are viewing this."
Can the guests see this too? Do they know how many other guests are viewing the page? Do they know what specific logged-in users are there?
I'm not paranoid or anything, I'm just curious.

I just tested this and yes, Guests can see both guests and users who are viewing the page. I'm not sure if there's a way to turn that off...
But if it helps, guests cannot see user profiles.

Do you guys plan on putting out any site-wide themes ever, I've always thought about this, and thought it'd be cool.

Yeah I second this
I'd love a dark or night theme for my sensitive eyes

I really really want to, but I haven't found the time to figure it out or look through existing ones
I agree though, a dark theme would be nice @-@

How come when you're reading your messages, a little male or female sign will show on a person's profile, but not when you're reading posts?

Whoops, it shouldn't be. We disabled the gender field a while ago, so this shouldn't be happening. Thanks for pointing it out ^^;

This is a very stupid question, but are we allowed to upload images in our signature that are bigger that 95 pixels if we use the whole (img width=95 height=95)(/img) thingy?
