I love old PCs, and restoring them to their original state, or however close I can get them. My mom makes me avoid little 80s and 90s PCs that I can get for $3-$5 at my local thrift stores. I nearly bought a Commodore 64, in excellent condition, for $10, before my mom found out I was doing so.

I'm currently working on restoring a Digital PC 3000 with a Windows 98 image. Pentium 2, 5gb quantum drive, problem is that it will not take an install correctly at all. My guess is that it's the CD ROM drive that probably has gone bad and just doesn't function correctly while installing. Got the PC from an abandoned factory near my house, there's a whole room full of their old equipment and when me and my friends went in there I grabbed the most intact and best looking machine I could find. It booted into the company's Windows 98 install but I wanted to wipe the drive to protect their data.
