Harmonic Motion problem (Possibly due to my calculator)
« on: March 17, 2016, 08:57:24 pm »
The question is,
A Weight suspended from a spring is set into oscillating motion by compressing it to a point 3 cm above its position and releasing it. It takes 1 second for the weight to complete one cycle.

Now I believe the equations is y=3(cos2)(pi)(x)

So based off of that there was another question, determine the height after 2.2 seconds. The answer is 0.17
So I think I'm supposed to plugin X as 2.2, but my calculator gives me 3 for radians, and 2.9... for degrees. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
