I really liked the music in series 1-4, I mean I still like the music Murray Gold composed from series 5+, I just preferred series 1-4's music. I felt like there was a big change in music style(?) between 4 and 5-- most likely to accompany the fact that Matt Smith's doctor isn't like Tennant's or Eccleston's.

I like Doctor who and have seen every episode since the revival but I wouldn't call myself a whovian. I think its a really good all round series with superb music and storylines + characters. I also like torchwood. However the David Tennant episodes were and always will be the best in my opinion. Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi are great actors and portray different and engaging Doctors but I just felt their episodes will never beat the ones from the first 4 seasons.

Yeah, I felt like series 1-4 were more, uh, 'lively?' than the ones that came after them, although I still did enjoy series 5 and onwards. I felt like the music made a big contribution to the first four series' tone, which may be why I like them more.

Where has this thread been, my entire time here? I'm a major whovian. I love anything up until Peter Capaldi. I just don't get the same feeling with Capaldi. My favorite would either have to be Tom Baker (The Fourth [Original Series]) or David Tennant (The Tenth [New Series])
