Marcie is just a shortened version of my middle name, Marcena. I guess I wanted something that included my name but was slightly different. ^^

I originally went by Grey but didn't like it very much. I remember going on thesaurus.com and searching for grey synonyms. Ash was one that came up and it stuck. Only odd thing is that apparently there's a Pokemon named Ash as well and people keep referencing that to me :fox-:P: When writing this, I remembered that the name actually was kinda copying my ex's online name (can't say specifics but it ended with Grey). Still a cool name but I'm glad I changed it to Ash now, remembering that  :sad-fox: Not the most pleasant memories with her I have to say

Ash is a cool name :3
You're half-right. Ash isn't a Pokémon, rather he's the main character of the series who goes around catching Pokémon.

Spike was a name I heard from time to time and I grew to really like it, even if I was female. Thus it stuck with my not-very-feminine deer. Kaz was a name that I mashed together from my real name (which starts with K) and "crazy". I played around a bit and got Kaz, which I really liked because it was simple.

Ipsum means "itself" in Latin, which fits because the character's gender isn't usually specified. The word is most commonly seen/used in the filler text "Lorem ipsum," which consists of a bunch of jibberish derived from Latin words.

Deimos (the middle name) is the name of a moon that orbits Mars, and I just thought it was cool because I love space. It's also the name of the Greek god of terror, but that's not why I chose it.

Starbird was the name of a street I saw on a roadside sign. Not much, it just sounded cool.
(I learned after choosing it for my fursona's last name that some people also might find it to be a reference to this:)

Originally, my sona was named Daisy because I thought it was a good name for a cow. I stuck with it for a while, but I wasn't quite satisfied with the name. Then I found another person with a cow sona named Daisy, so I finally decided Daisy was too generic of a name for a cow and ended up with Sugar, because it's just a nice word.

My real name is Jason, which means healer. Huh, that explains a lot...

I chose the name Jaz on here because it is short for Jaspar. Jaspar is my pen name for writing. Idk why I picked it. I guess it wasn't too far from Jason, and I just like the name better.

"Adrian" comes from the Latin cognomen "Hadrianus". It means "from Hadria" in Latin. Hadria is a town in northern Italy near the Adriatic Sea. One famous barer of the name was Publius Aelius Hadrianus, a former emperor of the Roman Empire. Hadrianus can even be traced backed to a Venetic word, adur, which means "water". It is possible that it also refers to the Adria River. "Adrian" has been in use since at least the Middle Ages, but it hasn't become popular until modern time.

Oh, I always love this question. But.. I have so many Fursona's xD
Just the ones who's names have meaning / story behind them.

Enso Masuku : Enso is a Japanese concept, often associated with Zen, Karma, or just circles. Masuku means mask. So the name means "Mask of (any of the stated meanins of Enso, all work for the character)"

Amhran Farraige : Sea Song in Irish, a subtle nod to one of my favorite movies, "Song of the Sea" about a selkie, also Amhran is a Selkie as well.

Dr.H (Samuel Harrison) : D.R.H are my initials. Simple.

Fiacial Siorcanna : Shark Tooth in Irish. (half shark character)

I looked up "Intersex pet names" in Google and I discovered the name Gauge and fell in love with it.
Aneko (a neko) was going to be Ankylo (Because she's part Ankylosaurus) ,but I decided that Aneko (An-ne-ko) sounded better with Gauge.

Kobe, my fursona's name, is based on my irl nickname by my parents, Kobe, which also is an acronym of my full name without my middle initial. (My fursona's name is my nickname irl, 10/10 naming skills :fox-:P:)

Full Name: K.O.B.P.E /// Without Middle Name: K.O.B.E

Kagemori is Japanese (To go with my Japanese nickname I guess lol), Kage means "Shadow" and Mori is "Forest", so literally "shadow forest".

Well... My name is a deviation of the name Alexander (as is my irl name) Which means "Defender of man" in Greek. I also always liked the name "Alec" but I knew of too many people by that name, so I put my own twist on it.  :fox-;):

I only have two sonas with "real" names, the rest are after English words

For the real names:
Faye- means fairy
Tamara- means palm tree

I new the meaning behind Faye previously but not Tamara and I found the meaning of Tamara interesting

For the words (definitions from Google):
Solstice- either of the two times in the year, the summer solstice and the winter solstice, when the sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky at noon, marked by the longest and shortest days.
Pepper- a pungent, hot-tasting powder prepared from dried and ground peppercorns, commonly used as a spice or condiment to flavor food.
Skyline- an outline of land and buildings defined against the sky.

I knew all these definitions previously which is why I choose the names (except for Pepper who was named after a rl horse)
