NOTE: This is a mostly spoiler free review.

     Zero Time Dilemma, ZTD for short, is a Visual Novel mixed with gameplay of Escape the Room type games. This game is the third of a series and although it can be played without playing the previous installment, for full enjoyment of ZTD you should play the previous two which are 999 and Virtue's Last Reward. Unlike the previous two games, rather than reading lines and lines dialogue, the sections that aren't escape the room sequences are known as "Cinematic Sequences" where the scenes are fully voiced and plays as animated cutscenes.

Player Game Mechanics
     ZTD focuses on the name of the game the characters are stuck in "The Decision Game". This game requires the characters to make life-threatening decisions, and these decisions alter the path of the story. Being a Visual Novel, ZTD has a branching story based on the actions you make. Another theme to the Decision Game is the phrase "Life is simply unfair.", to capture this, some of the decisions in the game is solely RNG, Random Number Generator, where probability is involved rather than the choice being definite.
     The other portion of ZTD is "Quest Rooms" or simply sequences where you have to "Seek a way out". Quest rooms, apart from decision making, make up most of the gameplay. Quest Rooms are your typical escape the room games, where you gather and combine items and solve puzzles to leave the room.

     ZTD contains music new to the series as well as some remixed music from 999 and Virtue's Last Reward. The music helps set the mood for the cinematic sequences and provides thematic background music to the Quest Rooms. Overall the music fits with the game.

"Cinematic Sequences"
     ZTD, unlike the previous games opted for fully voiced and animated cutscenes rather than the player required to read walls of text. In all honesty, the animations look a bit awkward, particularly when the characters are speaking, though the voiced lines help make up for the animation.

     I just have to say, the story clears up a majority of problems that were not fully explained in the last game, Virtue's Last Reward. It did not clear up all of it however, because the developers wanted to let both old and new players to the series enjoy it. Overall, the story is amazingly well done however the ending seemed to be a bit lacking.
