Any flight simmers out there?
« on: April 19, 2013, 04:09:58 pm »
I was just wondering if there are any flight simmers or people that are obsessed with aviation (Like me). If you do post a comment and maybe we could fly some day  :)

Great! Have you heard about the game War Thunder? It's a simulator of WW2 planes, online. It's really awesome, and enough realistic. On top of that, I've been flying a glider recently, and I really love flying.

Have FSX. But gave away the computer that it ran on when we moved back to New Zealand. Then for a while we were running FS9 on a windows XP computer that we got in like 2005. Until that computer died after a couple of days. Then for a while we were running FS9 on some like 11 -14 year old computer which I do believe used to run DOS but is running XP. That ran for about half a year or so until FS9 stopped running. We couldn't be bothered setting it up again since it took so long before. Now I've just got FlightGear on my laptop which is an Open Source flight simulator which has some good planes. The 707 I found for it is really good as well as the TU-154. Not as good as Microsofts Flight Sim though. I also just today started playing  War Thunder which is explained in a short post above. I've also got X-Plane on my iPad with the Aeroflight flight sim or something (can't excatly remeber the name of that one). Yeah.. I'm a bit plane nutty.

Well I had a class with one in it a few years ago that I was amazing at. It had all the bells and whistles for a small plane, I did better n it then the teacher who owned it did. I kinda want to officially learn how to fly a plane, sounds like it would be fun to me.

YES!!! I own flight simulator x gold with a ton of expansion packs! I also have infinite flight and xplane for my iPad so I can fly when on the go! As you probably can tell I'm a bit of an enthusiast! I hear FSX is being rereleased on steam soon with multiplayer so I may put my name down for that when its released! I fly on the simulator quite often from LEMG (Malaga) to EGBB (Birmingham) as it is my usual holiday flight but I also do longer flights from JFK to London heathrow!

I used to love to play War Thunder and Ksp. I would also like to play some other "real" flight sims once I get the money/cpu.

You have no idea how frustrating it is to have a really good family pc yet not be able to play any games because of a overheating issue  :sad-fox:
Coaster element of the forever :p

Skyrush's stengel dive! The most intense element I have ever experienced that combines unbelievable laterals with thigh crushing airtime. Insane is an understatement.

I fly the 747, 777, 737 and the 787 to JFK but when doing my LEMG to EGBB flight I fly the one and only airbus a321!

yes! i'm not alone! i used to have fsx, i currently have vehicle sim, orbiter, ysflight, combat flight sim 3, and an old version of flightgear. to bad i had a glitchy version of fsx acceleration, never could run it. fav plane from fsx was dino cattaneo's f-35 pack, those things were cool.

My dad had a combat simulator until he gave the joystick away.  I love flying and will be soon taking flight lessons IRL.

Awesome! Sims are cool but nothing beats the real thing.

I've got this old video game on several floppy disks that are labeled with nothing but "Flight 1995". I coded a program that translates keyboard signals into joystick so I can fly without having a joystick for my old Windows 98 (originally ran 3.1) PC.
