wait are they supposed to be super skinny? or just smaller

EDIT-- example: http://prntscr.com/cv51ee

DOUBLE EDIT-- they're all thin now, so I'm assuming that's the intent? Haha ^^;
They look normal to me (i.e. not overly narrow). Are you on mobile?

nope, PC. the only one that appears normal still is the polysexual flag; the ace one is thin for me

Yes, skinny is what I meant by slimmed down ^^; To make room for 2 fields. If a flag isn't showing correctly after hard refreshing, the cache probably just needs time to catch up. They're all displaying correctly for me, so I'm assuming its a user-end problem

For anyone who's still seeing the larger flags, just refresh the page a few times ^^ when I first logged on I didn't see the slim versions but after a few page refreshes they're appearing properly now

I don't want to start a flame war or anything, so please don't take this personally anyone, I just want to provide some counter arguments to why there aren't straight flags.

The reason that makes the most sense is that you don't want to associate with existig things, I can see that. Is there any reason there can't be a flag specific to Furry Teens?

Secondly, the straight people aren't opressed arguement. I don't think that should have any bearing on if you can be proud or not. And even so, a lot of times straight people are seen as homophobes or intolerant something, even if they aren't, which is a bit unfair. But even so, the point of acceptace is to be for everyone, not just those who especially need it.

Finally, I don't think that "offending people" is a good argument. That's just allowing another form of intolerance. We do realize that some of these flags might offend people as well? The point is to accept and respect people even if you disagree with them or their practices, and to allow them to have pride in themselves. I'm not saying that straight people don't accept other orientations, quite the opposite - which is why I think we might as well add a flag for them. Specifically not doing so for a single orientation seems a bit counter intuitive to me.

Again if the mods have made a final descision, I don't want to argue. But I would like to know peoples thoughts on these points. It's not a huge deal, but it's still as big a deal as the other flags, so why not discuss it?

Would it be possible for there to be a flag made for those of whom are unsure and questioning? Probably be just a mixture of grays with a rainbow question mark or something

Again, thank you so much for making these signature pride flags. I hope I'm not being too much of a bother by asking for another one to be added (even though you already said you were open to suggestions)
sorry anyways
It should be no issue to add the greyromantic flag! I'll start working working on it right away c:

Any gray romantic flags?
There isn't one currently, just the graysexual one. You can send me and image of the grayromantic flag (so I have a reference when making it) if you want it added c:

It would be cool to have some romantic orientations, for asexuals and others c:

And 3 pride slots, but since the second was just added - I don't see that happening soon. Which is fine :fox-:P:

I'm glad these were added, though! The flags are cute and a nice touch~  :cookie:

Regarding this.

For this site in particular. Although the site is pretty much perfect, I have started to notice something.. And it truly sparked today.

It upsets me how this is unacceptable because it could start heated arguments and is deemed as "uncomfortable" to users, but a thread or comment about someone committing self harm is perfectly okay to all users!
...
I don't think I'm comfortable knowing that a fellow user suicidally depressed.

Also: Why in the world don't we have a Straight pride flag?? I mean, I feel like I'm left in the dark, like I'm not even considered a fellow member on 'ere 'cause everyone's got their own flag. o3o
Is it because being straight is going too far? Like, is it TMI? Well.. aren't all of the flags TMI??

You can see the discussion about a straight pride flag here. We do not have one because straight pride is a very harmful movement, and it has no place here.
That thread you linked was made to purposely offend people. Someone venting about being suicidal is not. We take good care of our members and immediately intervene if we believe someone is in danger; if not, the posts are left up so people can help them.

If you have any further concerns, please contact a staff member directly, make a new thread, or post in the thread I linked. Please do not continue this discussion here (that goes to everyone else, too).

So. I'd argue the original purpose of that thread wasn't offend people. I didn't comment on it wanting to hurt anyone's feelings.

Though I completely stand by you guys on your stance against the straight 'pride' flag. The flags are to express pride for your orientation and identity, not to advertise it. Adding a straight or cis options would mean users are just stating their orientation rather than their pride for it.

Hope this made sense.

Sorry, I meant the original thread (not the one OP linked to), the roasting thread, was made to offend people. That's also a separate issue from this so I would prefer you continue discussion about that in the linked thread.

Why can't straight people be proud of themselves? You seem to be implying that if a non straight person makes their orientation apperent, it is a display of pride, but if a straight person does it its some kind of 'advertisement' and I just don't understand. I don't want to accuse you specifically of this, but there does seem to be a sort of rhetoric i am seeing that straight people are inherently 'different' than 'us' in ways beyond orientation - I think that does nothing for acceptence, and when people say things like this I can't help but feeling that there is some kind of 'straight people are after non-straights' feelings behind it. Is there some reason why there is a difference? Or are you saying that straight people really are different somehow?

Hi, I really don't wanna get too much into this, but the primary reason there are no straight pride flags are because of the violent movements behind them, as the staff have said countless times before. It's like if we let everyone put up a flag for their state or country, let's say, and didn't allow confederate or nazi flags. They are associated with hate movements, even if you are part of a group that has let's say, "readopted" the flag and changed the meaning, this is still no place for any sort of hate or implications thereof. If you are straight, wonderful!!! Support us and we will support you. The flags here are meant to empower those who are in the minority, so they can feel confident about who they are too! Straight people are not discriminated against (at least, as a whole,) so there is no need to raise them higher, if that makes sense. I think the goal is to just raise the pride in one group up until it is equal to the pride that the other group already has.

This isn't exactly a pride flag, but perhaps instead of straight pride, there can be an ally flag, so the individual can still represent their heterosexuality without the typical intentions of straight pride, and show support for the LGBT+ at the same time.

That might be something neat! Of course, it'd be up to the staff to decide if it were appropriate, but I've seen an ally flag in someone's signature around here (their name escapes me, apologies!!) but it could be helpful!

Ok, I can see the movement thing, but as I've asked before, can we get a "I'm straight but I don't hate non-straights and I'm proud of that" flag? XD
Not that the staff has to answer all my questions or anything, but for this specific thing I can't see a reason why we wouldn't do that unless I do get an answer.

As for the other flag example, I think that you should be able to fly those flags on your property as a matter of free speech as long as they aren't used to incite violence, but I also agree that private institutions can prevent certain things like that if they want, since you are agreeing to those rules. But again, it doesn't habe to be a violent movement thing. My objection is less to the fact that there is no straight flag and more that there seems to be a push against ever havingb one.

Finally, I mostly agree with this last part but I do want to say a few things.

On the matter of discrimination, that is what I worry about. Most of the individuals I meet are completely for equality, but along with this wave of acceptence there seems to also be a trend against the 'straight white male'. I'm worried that people who aren't part of the LGBT movement will be seen as against it, rather than making these judgements based on the behavior of individuals who could indeed be straight white males. I think discrimination starts in small cases like these, and I just want to make sure we remember that most people really are just people, regardless of orientation.

I can see the need for raising all groups to the same level, I totally agree! But I don't think letting people express their self esteem is going to leave others behind. I think we need to support all groups, but not scold other groups just because they are in less need of self esteem and acceptance.

Wow that was longer than I thought and seemed argumentative, but I really do agree for the most part. I just want to highlight my concerns and hopefully I have explained myself well.

EDIT: looks like someone mentioned an "ally flag", I have never heard of that but it sounds like what I was thinking of
