END ROLL: The Regretful RPG

"Good Morning, Deranged Maniac."
NOTE: The game is rated R-15 and contains horror/gore and dark and depressing topics.

Story Overview
The story follows a boy named Russell who is put into a program called the "Happy Dream" Program. What it does is that each day for one week, Russell injects a medicine called "the Happy Dream Medicine" and is put into a state of immense lucid dreaming. Here he meets a town with a variety of other characters and with them he goes on various adventures. The history of each each person in the town is revealed and unraveled as the story progresses.

The game was made in RPGMaker 2000 and does contain RPG elements, such as combat and items/equipments. The game spans 7 days each day focusing on one of the various members of the town. The game's enemies are symbolic and reflect the story of the town member that that day focuses on. The game infact does have multiple endings in which certain choices made in conversation can influence the ending.

My Thoughts
The game is like a roller coaster of emotions, having moments of calm and peaceful times to being down right dark and depressing. The game is story heavy and the mysteries are revealed about not only just the town members but also the Happy Dream Program and Russell himself. I highly recommend END ROLL if you like to enjoy a good story and is not really affected by the horror/depressing aspects of the game. Alternatively, you can watch a play-through of the game by youtuber ManlyBadassHero.
