What Are The Best Guitar Picks?
« on: December 19, 2016, 02:28:40 pm »
I love southern music co.'s picks I like how big they are and they have a weird ~0.67 thickness. But what are you guys/gals use and love as far as guitar picks?

Can't help you since I play bass, but I have used a pick on my Jazz Bass before-I'd rather pluck, but picks sound nice for a change

I believe there's a music board on here somewhere

EDIT: A Squier’s Vintage Modified Jazz Bass, I got it for my birthday-It plays good. I've also played a Fretless/Classical for about three years

If I had a choice, I'd play the electric-But both are equally badass

What should I do Make a sound Cloud.. Or a youtube? I play Gibbson and leo fender 70 model, I also play electric and acoustic.

Edit: I like thicker picks for my acoustic and thinner more grip focused picks for my electric

I'm not really that knowledgeable on picks. Most of what I do is fingerpicking, so all the picks I have are just cheap plastic ones (most of which I'm willing to bet I got for free somewhere). :fox-:P:

Bit of Pesonal story here Last year at around Christmas  our 8th grade band had our Christmas concert and I play tuba in band but today I got to use my base... Que the middle of the second song and my a string snaps... Now this was the only old string I had not broken but I was to lazy to replace it... So it goes now im stuck playing slay ride down a 2nd string fortunately I had recently learned a way to easily transpose music and slay ride dosent require much A string.
TL;DR my A string broke during a Christmas concert...

I use Jim Dunlop Big Stubby 3mm picks. They come in purple, which is sweet, and they allow me to pick faster. They aren't good for strumming, but since I play mainly metal and hard rock, that's ok. I am thinking about moving up to a purple plectrum though, just to see what they are like. Sorry for the tangent. Anyways, I prefer thicker picks, I can go faster and I have more control with them, but that's just me. They also have a nicer tone I think. Dark and a bit muffled.
