Your online personality
« on: December 28, 2016, 02:48:54 pm »
What kind of personality do you have online? Does it differ from site to site?
On places like forums or groups on Facebook, I'm typically pretty formal. But on sites like tumblr or DeviantArt I don't bother to type or act formally. I don't think the way I act online is too different from the way I act in real life.

I guess I'm pretty happy, cheerful and "cutesy" online. The only presence online I have is on my furry profiles and I act the same on all of them. I don't really use social media for the rl me. I act pretty similar irl too I guess, though I'm more outgoing and open about myself online

I like to think I am actually a bit more serious online than I am irl. Er, maybe not serious, but at least more honest about what I am actually feeling? Irl I am so chill and so I come off as kind of aloof and cynical.

But truthfully, I am really not that much different than how I act! I try to be a good representation of myself lol

I try to be serious, but have way too much regret.
I think I'm really annoying in real life, or at least I'm told.
I say thank you a lot and sorry a lot, I like talking to people and get very energetic around people just because I want to entertain them and be friends. I'm fairly.. Tons more Extroverted in real life.
On the internet I always feel queasy because I feel threatened for trying to speak my mind, but I want to be like everyone else and have friends and have the ability to talk and be understood..
I'm fairly different in real life to the internet.
I'm awkward.
I've made worse mistakes.

Through the internet, I think I'm much more open than in real life, and my speech is actually understandable. I honestly think that above 50% of all the sentences I have said in real life have been messed up somehow.

everything i say online is more thought out than irl
and i'm way more confident online
irl i'm basically silent, but i'll sometimes talk and even then it'll be really quiet and i'll just be a stuttering mess
but other than that i'm the same

I feel like the difference is rather than a difference between me online and offline is just a difference between written communication and spoken for me. And my personality depends a lot on the context

I shift a lot of who I am relative to who I'm talking to. If someone is relatively formal with normal grammar, then I'll do likewise. If someone uses more !!! and :D :D :D then I'll mirror that, to a lesser extent. If I'm just writing by myself and posting it, then I'm usually a little more sassy.

Example:

Fantasy has been around even longer than the novel, and it's history stretches on long enough to make even the nerdiest book-worm giddy. The plus side is that it's a well known and well loved genre. But the downside is that it's carried on some tropes that are exhausted. Some just need to be perked up a bit, but some should probably die off within this forward-thinking generation.

For those unfamiliar with this fabulous term, a trope is like a cliche of a particular genre or form of storytelling. TV shows have 'em, novels have 'em, you probably embody a couple of 'em. Examples would be a dumb blonde and a wise mage, or even the good (bad) ole Damsel-in-Distress.

I guess you could say that I just act as myself. Whatever naturally happens when I type. XD I don't pretend to be a character or different person unless I'm role playing or something like that.
I do tend to act nice and positive online (which I'm not faking, it just happens naturally) but when you get to know me I open up and show more of myself. I'm more talkative online because I'm not that social IRL yet.

I try to be the same online and IRL.

Problem is I don't talk much IRL so I'm more sociable and talkative online than I am IRL. IRL I'm quiet, shy, anxious, and I get over-talked easily.

In real life, i think i am a very honest person that says what he thinks is needed, but not much more

Online i'm kinda weird, i have this habit of going on weird rants and not making any sense while i do so.
I guess im trying to sound smart and mature or something...?
But dear god is it cringey seeing an old youtube comment where i rant about video games or something else stupid!

Oh well... atleast im more outgoing online :V

In RL, I'm a lot more reserved, and I really don't like to fight. But online, my personality varies depending on where I am and if I have a character going on at the moment. Depending on the character, I may be more confident than usual for example.

I ty to have a consistant personality everywhere in my life. I don't like being someone I'm not and I certainly don't aim to change myself to simply please the wish of others who can't accept me for who I truly am. I really can't even describe myself to you other than that I am who I am. I feel that I can't give an accurate and yet unbias description of myself because I don't like lying and I don't like hypocrisy. I see myself as one and not many. I really wish more people could come to accept themselves and to forget other people's standards because we'll never meet them. Unfortunately though, people have some sort of strange hatred to those who don't meet their standards, making it a rather saddening and lonely experience at times when, as with me, you're so different from everyone else. I won't change though. I never have liked change much and I don't aim to be someone I'm not because it would be a lie and a deer can never hide amongst the trees forever.
