Beautiful/Interesting Insects
« on: March 11, 2017, 01:24:32 am »
From what I know, I just like specifically one type of insect:

The Atlas Moth (Attacus Atlas) I think is one of the few insects I'd actually like to see in person.

It is the world's largest moth, with a wingspan of about 25cm (almost 10 inches).
And it's got a beautiful red color and pattern

Any insects you like aesthetically or otherwise? Why?

I LOVE moths when they're not close to me. Such interesting little insects, banging their little heads into my lamp until they die (happens all the time :L )

Especially the rosy maple moth:

I love Rosy Maple Moths, I've had a gorgeous picture of one as my laptop's wallpaper for a while now.
Moths are absolutely beautiful, and they're very interesting to learn about.
My all time favorite bug, however, is the Hawaiian Smiley Face Spider.

Here's the Karner Blue butterfly though, they've got such a pretty gradient of blue and sometimes orange in there too! Sadly it's a vulnerable species because it's native areas are being heavily deforested :c

I've always loved dragon flys. They're so colorful, and they have an awesome name!
