What Inspires you to do what you do in art?
« on: April 10, 2017, 01:41:16 pm »
For me it's personally the love of music and birds, I don't release any of the stuff i do with music, but i personally love doing it and the bird stuff is just because I have a love for birds.

So what inspires you?

It's mostly because I want to bring my characters to life. Ever since I first really started drawing in the fifth grade, it's always been about my characters.
I've also been beginning to write, and since I only write stories about my own characters(mostly), it still applies.

Music, religion, and love tbh. There's so many beautiful and inspiring things it's really hard to encompass. But anything that makes me really emotional is grounds for inspired art.

As for my commissions, usually I try to love the characters the same way their owners do, and if I really don't like them, I just pretend I'm "improving" the characters and adding artistic flair, lol.

I'm inspired by harsh feelings, a lot of the time. I also enjoy the power of being able to create what I see as a better version of me.

When I draw for others, it's different. I just really like seeing people happy. I don't really feel like I'm good for much so I can at least brighten a couple of people's days by drawing them something.

I just really like seeing people happy.

I'm changing my answer a bit-- I really stem off of this too. Seeing reactions is a huge plus for me to keep drawing/playing violin/cosplaying

I like making things that are unique. Designs or characters that aren't super crazy, (rainbow folf with fairy wings) but are still original in that they click. I really like using drawings as memories as well, sketching out cartoon versions of my friends is always really fun.

I love seeing people using the characters create. There's just something so uplifting seeing someone use a character you made, especially if they're strong art or making me a suit of them

Also I'm not going to lie because $$ is also a big motivator for me. I used to make some free adopts for the reason above but it always felt like a waste of time when the adopter didn't use the character. At least now I know I'm going to get money even if the adopter never uses the character

I know I'm not a traditional visual artist like most others who've posted in the thread so far, but... I think I've just always loved making things. And as others have said, I take a lot of pleasure in seeing people make use of or enjoy the things I make, some of which I consider to be art. I also make art for myself oftentimes, and it makes me happy each time I interact with it because I know I was the one that made it, if that makes any sense.

I also make music, and my inspiration for that is a bit different. I still love it when people enjoy what I play, but learning to play pieces that are challenging or that emotionally resonate with me also gives me a real sense of accomplishment, excitement, and pleasure, even if no one's listening to them.

For me it started out mostly for fun and to bring my characters to life. I was also a very sheltered and kinda lonely child so I drew a lot, I loved designing especially and making up my own stories in my head. Kinda a way to be my ideal self and I guess a coping mechanism.
Now its a mix of that and also wanting to inspire others, kinda the reason I've made so many plus sized female characters not only to make me feel better about myself but hoping that someone else will think "yeah I can be fat and still be bad ass or sexy" with out sexualizing the bodytype(like huge ass boobs or thighs). I also enjoy making people happy even if I'm slow and bad at doing things right away if at all(commissions always get done though).
My arts not great by far but I KNOW its at least good so I know people will enjoy it :3
Other artists who are successful also inspire me. I know its hard living off your art but I really want to.
