Alrighty, I have been looking around the art threads and I'm surprised  to see that no one else has done any abstract arts of any kind.
which everyone should atleast try once because it's very unique and distict from most of the art here
Here's a piece thay I've been working on for the past two days, let me know if you like it or not. You probably won't, but I'm trying to be as positive as possible ._.

Also, I dont know how Imgur really works, so sorry if the picture is fuqin' gargantous.

Also, I don't know if I'll post here again, but brace your looking holes if I do.

Wow this is hella cool, I've never been able to do abstract... I just can't see it.  But you sure can!  I also love your fursona ^^ Dude this is sick!  Don't put yourself down, this is really creative and cool.  I wish I could do this hehe

Oh my gosh this is awesome. I love the shading you did, everything looks like it's got so much depth it's amazing.

Great work, Vesper. You make good use of shading and texture, and that really helps the piece have both depth and draw to it. The perspective and angles used make the piece a lot more interesting as an abstract.

You've managed a neat effect that can be difficult for abstract artists to achieve, wherein a viewer looking at your piece for an extended period of time will begin attempting to reconcile the image into something that makes sense. It's the kind of image that almost-but-not-quite agrees with the spatial reasoning of the human mind, much like Escher's work in its heavy use of shading and perspective, but taken further to the abstract.

When I first looked at it, I wondered about the amount of empty space you left, and whether it would perhaps look better without, but I think that this space lends to the illusion by letting the mind attempt to contextualize the piece rather than surrounding it with additional detail that would just make it look cluttered. The way your work interacts with that space on the edges, in some places blending smoothly into but in others abruptly breaking it, contributes to that effect.

Anyways, I love where you're going with this, it's a great example of several artistic principles and it shows some real skill not only with technical pencil-work but also with your ability to conceptualize and understand perspective. Keep up the good work!

I forgot I even had an account here :]
Alrighty, so I made an attempt at drawing an anthro gsd (not like my 'sona, but something along those lines). Since I'm kinda new to drawing this kind of stuff,  I was hoping to get back some constructive criticism on what I can improve on based on the drawing below.

I know, It's looks like a squashed melon, but he's still beautiful

That is if you find ugly anthros beautiful.

I really like the fur and attention to detail you have here. The only thing I'd recommend is trying to make the face a little more symmetrical. I use the circle method, it seems basic but works really well for me. Otherwise, looks great!
