I am currently raising two beardies. One is a female who is your typical pet store morph, while my other is a male who is a slight citrus. I want to get another female whose currently at the pet store I got my male from, and she's a beautiful citrus.
Anyway, I guess I should put some facts down for those who don't know much about beardies. These will all be about the most common species of beardie, Pogona Vitticeps.
- They can grow up to 2 feet in length
~ Males do get larger than females, and some are known to grow a little larger than 2 feet.
- Dragons typically live up to 8 years, however, some are known to surpass that up to a whopping 14 years.
- They produce a mild venom, but it is not harmful to humans!
- Unlike other lizards, they do not regrow body parts.
- Beardies can eat many things, mainly insects and greens.
