What unsolved mysteries most intrigue you?
« on: July 30, 2017, 02:52:39 pm »
I saw this question on AskReddit last night, and I couldn't help but wonder what anyone else had on their mind.

I'm very interested in this sort of thing. I've watched so many documentaries on D.B. Cooper and JonBenet Ramsey, but the one that sticks out the most for me is the case with the Sodder children.
In 1945, the house of the Sodder family burned down. The parents escaped with four of their nine children, yet no one knows what happened to the other five. No bodies were found, no one knows if they ran away, or were abducted. It's really unusual.

Definetely the case with that one girl and the elevator security tape. Most of you heard of it I'm sure. She looked afraid, and the elevator wouldn't work- it only worked after she left. She was found dead in a water tank later that week. (Or the next day. I don't remember.) Nobody could figure out what was wrong with her or the elevator in the tapes, or who (or what?) killed her.

Yeah, this one is most interesting to me as well. I've watched a lot of videos about it and I'm very curious.

Stonehenge. I find it fascinating and I've always been curious who build it, why they built it and how they built it because those are some HUGE rocks they would have been very hard to transport (let alone put up) with the technology at the time

I don't see how that is an unsolved mystery. There is evidence it was put up by the Celtics, and it was raised by pulleys and large amounts of slave labour. There might have been one or two intelligent people working on it to align it with the sun, using markers.

Since someone already said the Elisa Lam incident, I'd say the Dyatlov Pass incident. What the heck happened? Why were they killed and why was one person missing a tongue...
Also, the Bélmez Faces. Even if it's all a hoax, I'd be interesting to hear how someone could fake it.
Google em if ya want.

One of my favorites is the "Cannibal Shark" mystery. Idunno if it's been solved yet, but essentially a 9 ft great white shark had a tag in it (Not hanging off or anything, tags are usually small things that are /in/ the shark) and, suddenly, the tag's temperature readings increased while the depth readings went lower, much lower than great white sharks usually dive to. Sooo.. Something really really big essentially ate a 9 ft long great white shark.

pretty spooky.
