Antivirus programs
« on: October 10, 2017, 01:07:38 pm »
What would you guys say is/are the best antivirus program(s)? I read reviews for the ones that are supposedly supposed to be the biggest and best and I see good reviews from websites, but reviews from actual customers always end up saying there is something wrong with the product.

I use webroot
Its not free
But it came with my computer
It scans sites before you go to them to make sure they're safe
It has protected my computer really well.
I have never gotten a virus in the 5 months I've had it.
So imo that's the best one

I use Avast in conjunction with Malwarebytes for scans.
AVG was decent too but they started getting really annoying and doing some malware like behaviors.

But in the end no antivirus is perfect, especially the free ones, but so far I am happy with Avast, not really annoying me when I do things and it does the job.

I use Windows Defender. It works just fine but it's somewhat slow

Rn I use Avira for pretty much all protection stuff. I like it because it doesn't shower me with notifications about updating and things like that. Every now and then I run Malwarebytes just in case I feel something is wrong, but more often than not, nothing comes up.

I use Windows defender and Malwarebytes together. Windows defender is enough for me, but I'm quite computer savvy and I usually stay away from sketchy sites. And if my windows install gets viruses I just reinstall it. I only use Malwarebytes to check files I download to make sure I don't get a virus.

I use Windows Defender (also have Malwarebytes just in case).

In my opinion most anti-virus programs are just shams. They take up resources and bombard you with ads etc without actually doing their job well.

The best defence (and the first line of defence) is you - the user - don't go clicking on dodgy crap and all that and you'll be fine.

Ye i used to use AVG back with windows 98 now its really annoying with the avg tune up stuff.
I have bullguard and secure a plus (as secondary defense not anti virus as such as you only need one program for virus scanning really).

Also stay away from mcafee it may be paid but its awful and never protected me fully when i used it.

If I'm on windows (Which I'm not 99% of the time) I use windows defender, otherwise I have no antivirus because I'm careful. (I like to think at least lol.)
