How are you paying for school?

I'm sorry if this is weird to just pop in here like this and also, idk if very many of you could even answer this but if you can, how many people here are in/going to a university or college?
How are you paying for it?

I'm just.. like looking for reassurance I guess..
Or you know, just ignore me~

I have a big scholarship for academics, as well as money my parents have saved up.

I also have a job to help supplement it. Some universities have a work-study program that helps you pay for tuition.

I was fortunate enough to have my parents pay for my first couple of years, because I was going to a community college (SO much cheaper, 10/10 do recommend - especially since most of your first classes are just gen ed anyways)
And then I paid for things with a mix of loans, a couple grants/scholarships, and out-of-pocket. I work a lot during the summers and most of that money went to school. It kinda sucks having limited money now, but...I'd rather have done this than have a ton of loans to be anxious about ^^; And if there's something specific that I want, I can usually save up via commissions (the paycheck from my job goes to rent, groceries, etc.)

Its pretty nerve-racking, but there's a lot of resources to help you out with it  :blush-fox: There's scholarship-finding websites (I used Fastweb), as well as specific scholarships and grants the school puts out. And the financial aid office of course, but I...would use caution with them, most people don't have great experiences. My biggest advice would be to fill out your FAFSA ASAP and triple-check that you met all the requirements. I missed out on a big grant this past semester because there were "hidden" requirements for example. And don't be afraid to follow-up with your school if it seems like its taking a long time to process or you have questions, etc. And yeah, work study, like RV said ^^

If you have any specific questions, don't be afraid to contact me if you'd like!

This is a fun question. I honesty don't know yet. My grandma gave me some money so that's helped a bit for first year, the rest came from student grants/loans and a small scholarship the school gave me. Actual tuition isn't that bad but trying to pay rent is crazy so that is something to consider. I worked full time all summer and only made around three months rent. I'm also planning to get a job out here to help with the costs ^^ I'll likely come out with debt though.

Scholarships are great though and I highly reccomend applying for them. Mine was only a teeny tiny one but every bit helps.
