Service/ESA/Therapy Animals!
« on: November 20, 2017, 07:52:53 pm »
I know there's a thread in the debate board, but this is more of a general thread for working animals to talk about them!!

Do you have an animal like this? Have you met one or plan to train one? Or do you just appreciate the work they do in general?

Pixel is an ESA for me, but despite the benefits that come with that, I try to abide by most housing rules and plane guidelines. Makes things easier overall. I want to train my new pupper Kaede to be a therapy dog! There's an organization at my school that does a lot of work around midterms and finals with the dogs, as well as hospitals and senior centers. I've always loved making others happy and I feel that this would be a great way to give back to the community, since my lifestyle currently doesn't allow me to rescue. Hopefully I can help some others! I also plan to double register her as an ESA as well, but I have to check the guidelines and see if there's a cheaper way to do it lol.

I'm in the process of getting a service dog. So far, nothing.

I don’t have any service animals and I don’t know anyone who does, but I appreciate them and I respect them, no matter how badly I may want to pet them

I'd really love to get Pidgey registered as an ESA since she basically is one for me but I officially haven't been diagnosed with anything since I'm too anxious to see a counser and idk the procedures for getting her regestered either (or if she'd even be allowed due to her disability)

You actually don't need a counselor's note to get registered! It's just a bonus if you want to fly with her pretty much, or live in a certain complex. Even then, you can get a note from your regular doctor! ^^

And animals with disabilities are totally fine for ESA's since their main purpose is to calm and comfort their owner c:

Hope that helps some tho!
