it's all in the program for me, I use Krita for most of my more serious artwork, and a smaller program called MyBrushes for casual art, if that makes sense. It takes a while to get used to a program, especially a complex one like Krita, but practice makes perfect.

I also use a graphics tablet^^ It's a Wacom Intuos

I use a tablet and clip studio paint
amazon has tablets on sale fairly often
I got mine 3 years ago, its far from fancy. it still works perfectly and gets the job done.
art programs are in general pretty pricey though

Most of the time I use a mouse to draw digitally, but I can't draw with one freehand. (Oh hell no.) What I usually do is:
-Draw something on paper (since I'm primarily a traditional artist)
-Take a picture of it
-Send it to myself
-Open it in an art program (I use Pixlr, which is free)
-Trace over the lines on another layer (using the mouse)

I do actually own a drawing tablet though, I just haven't really gotten used to it yet. I hope to get better at drawing with it in the future.

I actually use an OSU! tablet for drawing, which was $60 when I first bought it. However I don't believe you need a tablet to do amazing digital art, by friend from school made some amazing stuff with just a mouse and FireAlpaca
]I'd definately recommend Krita ^^ From my experience, I prefer it to Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop... And it's free.
Just practice and you'll be creating amazing work soon enough ^^

^^yes, and remember every artist has different preferences and works better on different programs. You just have to find what suits you and is in your comfort zone.  :lion:

trust me, it takes practice. it looks better than my first drawing on krita. maybe watch a tutorial for some helpful tips about the program?

Oh also, Krita has some pretty strong stabilising settings! It can help with control, especially if you have shaky hands

I'm probably not the best person to ask about this but whatever
I second what Hieroglyph said, tracing over your own lines can help a lot, drawing with a mouse is difficult especially freehand. I do that a lot(I rarely draw digitally since I don't really have time). I usually use photoshop (Because it's what I have and am used to), I wouldn't really recommend it, it's difficult to learn and has few options(there wan't even a stabiliser until last year), and last of all it's expensive(or you just get by other means)

Don't try trackpad digital drawing, you're not gonna find a harder time to art than to trackpad draw

I use a wacom tablet and Firealpaca. Digital art takes a lot of getting used to, for sure.  :fox-:P: And I agree, use stabilizer!!

The stabilizer is right here in Krita. If it isn't there, you can go to settings; dockers; tool options, and it's under there.

Increasing the bars will create a stabilizer :)

I used to do digital art! Here are a few pointers.

- First, you need a decent quality drawing tablet.

- Try to use a stabilizer if your program allows.

- If your line does not look the way you want to, know the shortcut key that will undo the line. It works wonders! Mine is Ctrl+Z.

- Make sure your tablet driver is working. Sometimes, updating it will cause your tablet to malfunction. That's why I usually used an older driver, because the new one would make the lines impossible to work with. If something looks off and feels off, something's probably off with the driver.
