Of course it's childish. It's marketed toward children.
Last time I watched it with interest, I was a child.
Therefore, I answered based on what I thought back then.

And Envy, you do know Bugs Bunny was intended for adults originally?
"Life's journey is not about arriving at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit, what a ride""
"Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means you are two steps ahead"
"Invoke not common sense, for it is not common"
"A life without joy is a wasted one, and you got but one to waste."
"To touch the clouds, you need to reach for the stars"

Of coarse. Many cartoons were originally more for a general audience than just kid's fair. But nowadays the perception is such that talking animals=Child's stuff. Granted, I don't think anyone here thinks that is the case, but I think the majority of the populous does... And there are a lot of relatively modern and historical examples of something staring a humanised animal being very high-brow and intellegent; Felidae comes to mind, being a very dark film and seemingly a pastiche of Film Noir, containing outright sex scenes and graphic violence, staring a cat and animated.
But my point is that people see anthropomorphic animals, as well as cartoons in general, as child's play. Though, perhaps that will change with time.

Whenever somebody says that, I point out that would mean every random animal could trigger natural disasters.

Pissed off bird? TORNADO.

Make the mouse angry? LIGHTNING'D

Make a fish mad? F%$#ING TIDAL WAVE.

No thanks. I'm happy with animals that don't have super powers.
Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?

Team Rocket nothing, you described all Pokemon trainers, including Ash.

But I suspect PETA would start kill... Er... "protecting them from trainers", and lots of companies would abuse their powers for cheap labor.
