Well I was joking about the whole orphan thing geez you guys take things really seriously sometimes.
but to answer your question jump up and bite out their jugular.
I see no reason for that not to work.

It wouldn't work because it would be too easy for a deer to overpower a ferret. Plus it takes time for the jugular to bleed out and during that time the deer would be thrashing.

I would prefer if you didn't even bother, since I already know a ferret cannot take down a deer unless it's only a day old or something like that.

Yea, I think ferrets are tough for their size, but their not THAT tough. No way could it take down a whole deer

Wolves team up to kill anything that big, especially when it's got natural defenses (such as hooves).
So, err, yeah, a single ferret would have no chance, and swarming it would result, at best, in critical injuries to multiple ferrets.

According to our area's gamekeeper, Ferreting is the most effective way to control the Rabbit numbers here. Considering they're an introduced species to the British isles, we have vast overpopulation of 'em. Unfortunately it also means that if yah snare one, it's probably not edible except in wild areas.

Hare meat is supposed to be even better.

That gives me a mental image of Flinch running after bunnies with a knife and fork

Yuck D: Personally I never got it in my head that rabbits were something to eat. They were a pet, and you don't eat pets. But then, I have pretty tight control over what I ingest, I get squicked by the concept of eating pretty much anything that's not farmed.
(And yes, I know there are rabbit farms  =p I'm still not eating them)

I've had rabbit, it's actually not that great.  Flavourful, but very tough as well.  I prefer venison, myself :-)

One thing I've learned from working around pro cooks is it's all in how it's raised, killed, preped and lastly cooked. Healthy living will mean more and better meat. When an animal is calm thats the best time to kill it, make it a fast kill so no adrenaline gets in the meat and ruins it. Also it depends on your cook, if they know the meat they'll know how to store/prep/cook it the right way for best flavor, texture and look. Always remember to ask about any special souses to see if you'll like it and if you'd rather have it left off or substituted.
I will steal your soul and use it's eternal pain and anguish to light my desk lamp.

And I could sit through Guinea Pig 2: Flowers of Flesh and Blood (A movie that is literally 40 minutes of a woman being tortured and dismembered, and banned for years in North America) and not be uncomfertable

rabbiting is fun, the way you drag them out of the traps kicking and struggling, the way the blood rushes out of their noses when you break their little necks, the way their babies pop when you throw them on the fire (two of the rabbits we caught were pregnant) the way you tear their skin off all in one piece then break their paws off to get it all off, and they taste just like chicken! there are even rabbit farms that grow rabbits as substitute chicken.

That's disgusting and cruel. When you think being cruel to an animal is fun you have major problems, the kind I don't want anything to do with.
