Not too odd actually. You have teens helping teens with their problems which allows for a more personal touch. It's an excellent idea.

As has already been explained, the idea behind hiring younger moderators is to foster leadership qualities so that someday they can be the new Administrators. We Admins won't be here forever.

Well, we have to be realistic. I have no intention of leaving soon, but at some point it will be ridiculous to have 30-year-old Administrators in a group meant for teens.

This is a person with extensive knowledge on website databases and interfaces. CMS, SQL, JAVA ect. And is a general consultant for this site on progressing a few things.

I has extensive knowledge of a few content management systems, Java (as much as I dislike it), SQL, and ASP.NET MVC, and PHP if needed.... plus a few other languages.

I'd gladly help out with internal stuff, but I have no interest in being a part of the moderation staff

I changed my mind, I have applied after all. Worst case scenario is that the world ends as a result, and I have to watch everything I love be destroyed before suffering an equally painful and slow death.

More likely, The Powers that Be will say no for the same reasons I didn't want to apply. Save maybe the 'I'd feel like Natashas replacement' bit. But whatever.
Best case - I am a new mod, and I get to help out a bit. Yay!

nope though i would make sure users have been on for however long or posted however many times to help prevent rouge moderaters that have aperntly happend before.
