I'm only interested by the fact that it has the Company of Heroes cover system. But is there a specific reason that it sucks?

I have never liked DoW, but then people who play the tabletop version of the game usually don't, because it's so completely different to WH40k. I must say, though, that DoW2 looks alot better than the first one did. Largely because The Bugs are in it. Whoo Tyranids!!

well battles are smaller scale, no chaos space marines, the requirement for steam and games for windows live or whatever, and the lackluster campaign. The army painter was a little better than Dawn of War 1 but i'll pick soulstorm over DoW2 any day

I'm waiting for the Imperial Guard to get released for it. Until then I'm sticking to playing as the Royal Canadian Artillery on COH.

Thats surprising most people I talked to about Soulstorm said that it was not worth the money spent because it was $30+ for new maps and two races that were only ok(I agree with this)
Also about the Chaos space marines, this is not surprising at all too me. I expected GW to try to milk anything for more money by putting out more expansions later.

I think the RCA come with the brits in Opposing Fronts

GW have no imput into what goes into the DoW games - they sold the video game liscensing for 40k and WHFB respectively, and that was all. That's the main reason why it's so unlike the tabletop version or the fluff, because they made a videogame that's awesome rather than one that's just a digitised Inquisitor-style "FUCKING SPACE MARINE WAAHHHHH *win*" or WH40k - they made it something new. Which yeah, it was cool.

I love playing as the RCA man, 3 vs 3 on an extra large map. The Yanks take the terrirory, we secure it. Fire base in the middle with 5 25-pounders. No German can survive that :D

Fuck that imperial guard shit.

It's all about the ULTRAMAR!

Bright blue is the best camouflage color. Everyone knows that.

But they aren't 8 foot tall religious zealots dressed in 15 tons of power armor with chainsaws and firearms that shoot high explosive self propelled armor pircing hunks of death.

ALSO JET PACKS.

Phht, jetpacks are no match for the might for the Teramak 144th Mechanised Infantry!! My Hydras shoot them out of the sky and my Valkaries strafe them to death!

Man, I wish I still had friends that played Warhammer. All my Space Marines sitting in my closet with no heretics or unholy alien aberrations to kill in the name of the emperor. (May he rule from his throne for eternity.)

Also fuck tyranids. I GET MY FILL OF ZERG RUSHING IN STARCRAFT, I DON'T NEED IT IN MY FUCKING TABLETOP GAMES.

If only there was an actual computer game, it would be much easier on the wallet and play a lot smoother.

I hear that man. I have a 3,500 point IG Parachute Infantry Company; no tanks and few heavy weapons...lots of special drop-infantry, special weps, stormtroopers and veteran sergeants, etc.

You know how many fucking models I had to buy!?

I wanted an entire company of them but gave up after three full platoons (roughly half, but still 180 men) as I worked out it had cost me, including paints and stuff, about

Wow, I play all the time. Eldar wtf - because dancing and cheating is bestest, IMHO. I also concur, WHFB, WH40K and that bullshit new version of LOTR what makes me want to get a mumak for my Easterlings of Khand (and a whole shitstorm more of those guys, too) bites my crying wallet far, far too much.

I agree with Rooster - IG are so totaly the best. New codex soon, too.

/random

I may buy DoWII in two days when I has the moneyz soon. It's either that or, ironically, a new Gothic fleet to replace my now bashed in and ruined SM fleet.

Any suggestions?
